Lucas' POV.

I sat up in bed startled, as the last of the power surge spread throughout my body. I glanced over at Elijah who was still sleeping peacefully. "Babe?" I shook him. "Elijah," I whined, trying to wake him up. He groaned and draped his arm across my waist, "Not again, Luc. I'm tired." He grunted. I chuckled and swatted his arm, "No, did you feel it?" I asked, shaking his arm. "I don't need to feel your cock to know what you want." He groaned. "No, you idiot. That power surge." I rolled my eyes.

"Oh, that. Yeah, I felt that." He muttered as he turned over on his back. "Well, what was it?" I questioned, poking him. "The only power surge I've ever felt wasn't a good one but this wasn't Amaris losing control." I sighed, "This was different." I groaned and dropped my head onto his chest. He tangled his fingers through my hair and gently pulled me to look at him. "Babe, that was Rhydian marking Amaris and vice versa." He smiled down at me. My eyes went wide then I grinned. "This means she'll definitely stay now." I leaned up and pressed my lips against his before resting my head on his chest again. 

He chuckled and wrapped his arm around my back. "Lucas?" He poked my side. I growled and glanced up at him. "I'm awake now." He thrust his hips up, wiggling his brows suggestively. I chuckled and wrapped my hand around his length. "I can tell," I replied, reaching up and capturing his lips. "Mmm," He moaned into my mouth. 

I woke up alone and cold in bed. I stretched and groaned then remembered what happened last night. I shot up and raced into the bathroom. "Good morning, lover." Elijah winked while he was sat in the bath. "Wanna join?" He smirked. I shook my head as I switched on the shower, "This is why I like having the separate bath and shower." I chuckled. "I'm going to see if Amaris is up yet." I bubbled. He chuckled and shook his head: "Babe, they won't be leaving their bed today." 

I sighed and nodded. I turned the shower off and stepped into the bath. "Guess I'll join you then, and you call me horny." I gibed. He chuckled and wrapped his arms around my waist, "Turn around." He whispered huskily into my ear. "I'm returning the favour from last night." He nipped at my mark and wrapped his hand around my cock. I leaned my head back against his chest while he slowly and torturously stroked me. "Elijah." I moaned, "No teasing." 

"I want to hear you beg." He sucked on my mark and I jerked in his hand. "Fuck, Eli... Please." I groaned. "Lucas! Amaris was marked last night!" Alex's voice popped up in my head. Fucking Alex, perfect timing as usual. I moaned and snaked my hand around my back and took hold of Elijah. "Hard for me already?" I moaned. He quickened the strokes on my cock, "Always baby." He moaned against my neck. "Lucas, does she know what happens when she's marked? Come on, stop ignoring me!" Alex growled through our link. 

I stilled my hand and stopped Elijah. "What's up?" Elijah asked. I turned and held up one finger to him. "What do you mean?" I questioned. "Meet me at the packhouse," Alex announced. I rolled my eyes and leaned forward and planted my lips against his. "Later baby. Alex needs me." I groaned. He smiled against my lips and nodded. "Go." He gestured his head towards the door. I got out of the bath and glanced back at Elijah, "Don't bother finishing yourself off. I want you hard and waiting for me all day." I smirked before rushing out of the bathroom. 

I quickly pulled on some clothes and made my way to the packhouse. As I reached the packhouse my dad was heading there too. "Alex call you too?" I asked as I jogged to catch him. He nodded and yawned. "Did he wake you?" I chuckled. He nodded and yawned again. "He didn't you? It's like 7 am. What were you doing?" He sighed. "I was in the bath with-" I coughed and my eyes went wide. I need my morning coffee, I internally groaned. 

'We should go back and let Elijah finish what he started.' Lupo, my wolf growled. 

'Down boy.' I chuckled to my wolf. 

"I don't need to know what you get up to too. I had to deal with that early this morning with the power surge." He groaned. I nodded and chuckled awkwardly. "At least she won't be leaving now," I mentioned. He nodded and his lips curled up into a smile. I went to open the door but Alex swung it open first. He was pacing back and forth, a frantic look on his face. "Woah, what's up?" I asked, grabbing ahold of him. 

"Amaris is marked." He shrieked. I nodded slowly. "She would have marked Rhydian too," He quavered. "Oh, I see what's wrong." I chuckled. He glared at me and raised his brow, "Rhydian will look after her, he won't hurt her." I exclaimed. He shook his head and rolled his eyes. "No, I'm not worried about that." He groaned. "The marking of a Dark Wolf can be deadly. I nearly killed my mate after I'd marked her. Even though they're chosen for us, it doesn't mean they can bear the mark from a Dark Wolf. I was absolutely fine after but she was in like a coma for ages." He ranted as he explained.

We watched him intensely as he continued ranting. "Her pulse was weak, too weak. The only way she came around was in a human hospital and she lost her wolf." He took a deep breath, "She stayed with me even though I was the cause of her wolf dying." He explained sadly. My mouth dropped open and I was speechless. "Have you seen either of them?" My dad asked calmly but I could see from his face he was anything but calm. He took a deep breath and nodded, looking up at the stairs. 

"They're in his room on the Alpha's floor." He announced keeping his eyes on the stairs. "Are they ok?" My dad asked again. Alex didn't answer or look back at us. "Alex, are they ok?" He growled. Alex turned and his eyes flashed red. He quickly shook his head and screwed his eyes shut, "No, they're both asleep. They're both in a coma... like my Shelby was." He answered through gritted teeth. I darted past Alex straight up the stairs, I carried on until I reached the Alpha's floor. I ran to his room and took a deep breath before pushing open the door. 

I stepped inside and glanced around the room. They were both laid together in the bed, I went over and pulled the blanket up to just under their chins. I focused my hearing and could hear two strong heartbeats. I let out a breath I didn't realise I was holding in. "Can I come in?" I heard my dad outside the room. "Yeah, they're both covered up," I answered. My dad came into the room and stopped at the end of the bed. He looked between them both and then to me. "Their heartbeats are strong. It's like they're just asleep." I sighed. I glanced back at them... "Wait, Elder Rick said he knew something." My dad announced. "He tried telling Rhydian in the hospital but he wouldn't listen without Amaris." He groaned. "Come on," He called after me as he left the room. 

I followed him and shut the door behind me. We went back down to the main entrance, Ezra and Elijah were standing by the door. "Don't let anybody onto the Alpha's floor and if either of them come out of the room, I want to be notified immediately," I commanded. "Yes, Beta." They both answered in unison. I nodded at them as they strolled past me up the stairs. Elijah halted as he reached me and gave me a chaste kiss before jogging after Ezra.

"Come on, Lucas. Let's go see Elder Rick." My dad said as he led me out of the packhouse.
