"Rhydian..." Alex rested his hand on my wolf's shoulder. I couldn't take my eyes off all the blood. There was so much of it, the little crate was open wide, there were bits of skin and fur stuck to the bars. Alex stepped in front of me and crouched down. "Rhydian, we need to find her." He mentioned, "She's not here, but she's hurt or-" I growled preventing him from finishing that sentence. His eyes flashed red at me and I took a deep breath.

"Listen..." He growled, "If she shifted in that crate, she's going to need help." He snapped. "I know she's your mate..." He hesitated, "But, she's my sister." He glanced down at the floor. "I haven't been there for her, I want to make up for that by helping her now." He whimpered. "No matter where she is or how she is." He added. "How did you have the dart?" I questioned.

His eyes snapped to mine, he was rocking back and forth on his heels trying to keep his balance. "We don't have time for that." He muttered. "Answer me," I roared, using my Alpha tone. But it didn't have the effect I wanted, he was an Alpha's son. "Fine, I was following her. I didn't know it was Amaris at first. Hell, I didn't know there was another Dark Wolf." He took a deep breath, "I saw her get hit by the dart. I went to her and I caught her scent, I mean, I had already noticed her scent but I didn't recognize it." He sighed. "Seeing her in pain, I don't know, triggered something. Everything came flooding back about Amaris, it was then I knew who she was." He explained. "But, I couldn't stay, I needed help. So, I went back to the pack even though at the time I didn't know who any of them were. I was told my family and pack had died 9 years ago." He continued.

"You left her there to be captured?" I raged and Ryder growled. He held his hands up in front of him with his eyes flickering between blue and red. "I knew they had a potion that could subdue a Dark Wolf. I needed help." He glanced at the floor.

"I'm going to help the rest of the pack." I snarled. I turned and headed to the door. I glanced at Lyla, she had tears in her eyes and she was gawking at the blood. I bumped her leg with my snout and she shifted her eyes to me. She gasped, cupping her hand over her mouth. "I'm so-" She started but I gestured my head towards the corridor for her to follow me.

I heard Alex grunt as we went down the corridor, he hurried around me and took the lead. He stopped outside one of the doors and turned to me. "This is the Alpha's office." He stated. "There might be something useful in here." He opened the door and went in. "Mum?" I heard him blurt out. I looked around the doorway and there was a woman laid on the floor with her throat ripped out. I went further into the room and saw Selena slumped against the wall with her neck in a horrifying position.

Alex bent down to his mum, sniffed at her body. He stood up and came towards me, he kneeled in front of Selena and did the same again. He looked at me from the corner of his eyes, "Amaris did this" He noted. "How do you know?" I asked through the link. He stood up and took a deep breath, looking over at his mum. "Her scent is all over Selena and our mum." He replied without taking his eyes off his mum.

"Actually, it's no doubt that Amaris killed Selena... She has been provoking Amaris ever since she came back." I added.

He whipped his head around at me. "Came back? What do you mean?" He quizzed. I went over to the woman's body and stared down at her. Alex needed to know about Amaris's past but not from me. "This wasn't done with canines." I thought out loud. Alex took a shaky breath, "No... She wouldn't have been able to shift." He sighed. I let out a low growl and darted out of the office.

I made my way back out of the building, I could hear Lyla and Alex not far behind me. When I reached outside, I took a deep breath, filling my lungs with as much fresh air as I could gather. A wolf dived over me, taking out a rogue that I didn't see was charging at me. The wolf scratched at the rogue's stomach and face until he slowly quit fighting back. The wolf peeked at me and nodded. "Stay safe, Alpha." Lyla's voice filled my mind before she ran off in the direction of the fight. I took off following her and arrived straight in the middle of an all-out war.

There were so many rogues. They just kept coming out of the tree line. I saw Lucas's wolf surrounded by 3 wolves. I flew towards them, leaping when I neared them, taking down 2 of them. I clamped the rogue's throat with my teeth, quickly ripping his throat out before twisting to the other rogue. I bit down on his muzzle before opening my jaws wider and puncturing the crown of his head with my teeth. The rogue let out a bloodcurdling howl before collapsing at my paws.

'Ryder, we do this together. You lead.

'Let's do this!' Ryder growled. I gave all control to Ryder. We glanced at Lucas's wolf, both wolves nodded and ran off together towards the rogues. We dodged the corpses on the ground and took turns taking out the rogues in our path. We slid to a stop as loads of rogues circled us, I lost count at 15. I peered at Lucas and he nodded at me."If we're going down, we take them with us," Lucas growled through the link. I growled back in response and veered my attention back to the rogues.

It all happened so fast, one after another the rogues attacked. We didn't have time to catch our breath before the next attack. Ryder's paw was broken, we couldn't put pressure on it. Our right eye was barely open, there were Goddess knows how many claw marks on our body. Lucas was in better condition than me, the rogues were targeting me more than him.

We managed to take out a few rogues, more kept coming. I growled before launching myself at another rogue. I dug my claws into his back and held on while he tried shaking me off. I lost my grip and flew into a tree. I grunted before standing up and shaking my fur out. I stood, limping trying to keep my balance on 3 legs, baring my teeth at 2 rogues who were snarling, sauntering towards me. One of them lunged at me, I managed to dodge him causing him to fall to the floor. I took the opportunity and sunk my teeth into his neck. As soon as I let go, the other two ran at me. They slammed into me, sending me flying against a tree. I tried standing up but couldn't, black dots were swirling around my vision. My chest was tight, I couldn't breathe properly.

The rogues loomed over me, snarling. I took a deep breath and waited for the pain to happen. If this was how I was to die, I only have one regret... Not knowing If Amaris is safe or not.

I felt myself growing weaker. All of a sudden, a large black wolf jumped out from the trees joined by a smaller brown wolf, they both landed on top of the rogues. I squinted a few times as they wrestled with the rogues. I tried focusing my eyes, trying to figure out who they were, my vision was blurry or they were too far away. Suddenly the rogues dropped to the floor, the brown wolf glanced at me then back at the black wolf before taking off into the woods.

The black wolf strolled towards me, as it got closer I noticed the red eyes. It was a Dark Wolf. They came closer and nudged my neck. "Rhydian, where are you?" I heard someone ask, but my mind wasn't working. I couldn't work out who it was, I couldn't answer them back. I closed my eyes before opening them again. I was seeing double vision, in front of me stood two Dark Wolves. I shut my eyes and opened them a few times and everything got worse. I closed my eyes once more before succumbing to the darkness.
