a few days later. At the hospital.

Webber walked to us with the GI Joe guy from the other day "Lady and gentlemen. I want you to meet the new head of trauma at Seattle grace. Major Owen Hunt, you remember. Derek and Melanie Shepherd, Mark Sloan. "

We shook hands.

Mark "He stole my patient. "

Me "it was mine "

Mark shook his head, scoffing  "you wish"

Derek "Mine, too. "

Owen "Now you'll get a chance to steal mine. Looking forward to it. "

I nodded "Ah, can't wait. "

Webber "I just talked to a friend of mine at the D. O. H. Now that we have Owen, we are being reclassified as a level I trauma unit by the end of the month. "

Derek nodded "That explains it. "

In the ER.

We had six Multiple M. V. C. Six incoming.

Derek and i walked over Alex's trauma room.

Owen looked at us confused "can I help you ? "

Me "Dr. Karev paged us. "

Owen "Well, he shouldn't have. We got it covered. Thanks. "

Derek "You have a head injury and burns, so I don't think you have it covered. "

Owen turned to Alex "Karev, are you a doctor? "

Alex nodded, confused "Uh, yes, sir. "

Owen "Are you capable of assessing a patient's injuries?"

Alex nodded " Yep. "

Owen turned to us "Like I said, we got it covered. "

Derek "You know what? We're here. Why don't you let us just dive in? "

Owen "Appreciate the offer, Shepherd, but I want my residents to learn how to deal with trauma. They're not gonna learn as much or as fast if they stand back and watch attendings do it, unless that attending is me. "

Then he walked into the room.

Derek looked at me "you're not happy"

Me "do i look happy?"

Derek shook his head "no"

I nodded "good"

At a nurse station.

Webber walked over to me " you paged me? "

Me "Rambo is completely out of control. "

Webber asked confused "Excuse me? "

Me "Hunt. He kicked me out of my own E. R. "

Webber "Did he kill somebody? "

I shook my head "Not yet. "

Webber "Then call me when he does. "

I sighed "Richard."

Webber " I don't have time for it, Shep. I have a dying 10 ye old and a team of doctors who can't stop bickering long enough to solve a problem"

Then he walked away.
