Heading back to our homes from the cafe, the five of us walked each other home to—one, make sure they got home safe and two, got more time to talk with one another. This would ensure the system was both safe and fun, however, keeping the fun in front of our mind.
"Eh, Hyung," humming in response, Jisung calls for my attention with a bright smile as he talks. "Where's your house? Binnie and I live nextdoor. If you live nearby we can walk together to school."
"Uhm, not to far from here because our house is just around the block. And yeah, sure we can walk together if you guys want." Looking around and checking my surroundings, I respond with a return of a gentle ruffling of Sungie's hair. At this point, that habit is now instinctual when he is just being irresistibly cute either intentionally or not. I mean, doesn't he just look like a baby squirrel because he definitely likes to acting like one.
"Hold up—if you live that close, we shouldn't be that far from each other!" Jisung suddenly spins himself to force me to only look at him while we walked. As he is now walking backwards and with brighter (if that's even possible) eyes, he continues his excitement-filled exclaims.
"Channie, we're going go inside now." My thoughts were then interrupted as I suddenly realized we had arrived in front of our home. I sounded a acknowledgment before letting them know to tell mom that I was going to walk the two others home really quick.
"You really don't have to, hyung, Sungie and I can walk home as normal." Changbin tries to reject my offer, however, I insisted as I suddenly felt an urge of protection for them even when I knew in the back of my head that they'll be fine.
"Ever since we met, it seems like you've just adopted us." Binnie would then conclude with a clear joking manner with earned chuckles from both Sungie and I.
"Well, duh—you guys are my dongsaeng."
As we walked down to their house, we continued to talk amongst ourselves about everything and nothing at the same time. I noticed the pure happiness and enjoyment when I was around them and at that moment, I believe I have already fallen for them a little. I mean, this little crush could go either way: it could lead to a deadend or it can continue to harbor and grow in my feelings. Even if I hope for the latter scenario, I have a slight fear I would be rejected and therefore ruin our newly-forged friendship. Now that is not what we want as it is, in fact, the very last thing we would want to happen.
"Wait—did we even get your number?" As we arriving at Jisung's house, the youngest proceeds to his home until he snaps around in realization. As far as I know, his questioning was valid as I never recalled obtaining their numbers. After realizing this fact, we handed phones to each other and exchanged numbers.
"Okay! I got to go now. Bye, hyungies!" Jisung would then announce after noticing his mother's beckons to come inside. However, before he released himself from our group, he gives a hug to both of us as if it was his parting gift.
As we head to Changbin's home the similar scenario occurs, so afterwards I start back home. Although the walk was nothing too special, I still enjoyed it as the atmosphere seem to encases my senses. The chilling winds gave the air a sort of fresh tinged character while the leaves scattered around my feet served as both a satisfying sound as it is crushed beneath my shoes and a visual experience due to the various colors that were presented.
"Channie! Come inside already! We baked cookies!" Now forcefully pulled out of my thoughts, Lucas's call gathers my attention. Turning my head towards Lucas, I see him continue to beckon me inside. Well I guess the outside can wait because cookies are too good to be rejected. Oh, You have try fresh baked chocolate-chip cookies with vanilla ice cream if you haven't yet tried it.
