Author's Note: Damn, this time it took me only a month to release a new chapter, huh? Welp, here it is, and I hope you guys will like it! You should follow me on Twitter (@inoxthebirb), btw, I plan on using that more, maybe for updates or something, who knows! Anyway, off to the story!

Being at Calli's place while she's working on a new song of hers is not always too exciting, it always goes down to just me chilling on her bed while she's audio editing or doing whatever musical artists do while finishing up their tracks. I'm not really too much into that kind of stuff, but she showed me some basics so I can follow her when she talks about her songwriting passion more easily.

Despite the interactions between us being minimal when she's so engrossed in her work, these kinds of days have their own charm to them - Calli gets to work on what she loves, and I get to rest on her comfy bed and steal glances at her every so often, she looks so cute when she's working hard.

As time passed, I noticed it got dark outside, so I told Calli I'd go outside and grab us some food at the inconvenience store nearby like I usually do on days like these. She nodded and said:
"Sure thing, man, grab us some aka wine too so we can celebrate when I finish, I'm almost done with this one!"
"Great," I replied, "looking forward to hearing it!" I smiled and left her room, grabbing my wallet before doing so.

~quick timeskip~

"I'm home!" I said, returning from the store while carrying some cup ramen and a bottle of the cheapest red wine Calli likes. To my surprise, there was no answer from said reaper. She must be really into it, I thought, making my way towards her room. After I opened the door, I was surprised by a sight I should have expected sooner - Calli falling asleep from exhaustion after working non-stop the whole day. I usually just wake her up from her improvised nap, but I decided to do something else this time.

I quietly put the food and drinks away on the floor and got close to her, brushing her pink hair off her face and revealing her cute sleeping expression. Really weird to think that behind this cute exterior lies a terrifying entity, but now's not really the time to think about that, better just savor looking at her before inevitably having to wake her up. To do so, I decided to be a bit bolder than usual - I kissed her cheek and softly told her I loved her. She stirred a bit to this, but still didn't wake up. It did provoke some incoherent mumbling from her though.
"Cute," I wanted to whisper, but accidentally let my voice be too loud, making Calli slowly awaken and rub her eyes.
"Mmm, what time is it?" Calli asked in a still half-sleeping state.
"It's still afternoon, you seem to have dozed off of exhaustion though."
"Heh, that's completely normal for me, you know that well enough," she smiled at me.
"Anyway, have you finished the song?" I inquired her, excited about finally hearing it.
"Oh, uh, not yet, still need to add some final touches and it should be done in a bit! Could you make us dinner now so it's ready as I wrap this up?" she said, suddenly all miraculously pumped up after only several moments passing since her nap was cut short. Must be the workaholic in her.
"Sounds like a plan! I'll be back after I prepare this ramen," I exclaimed while grabbing the bags from where I left them and heading for the kitchen to make some grub.

~another timeskip~

Having finished preparing the ramen and the wine glasses, I slowly moved towards Calli's room where she had an impromptu little table set up, presumably for eating during long singing/streaming sessions. At the moment I entered the room, Calli looked at me, clearly happy and energetic, and said:
"Yo, the song's finally done, (Y/N)! Let's set up the table here and I'll play it when we settle down." Still, couldn't help but to feel a hint of anxiety in her voice, in addition to a slight blush she's had the whole day today. She must have been waiting to show me the final song for a while now, can't help but feel as excited as she is.

After putting the food down and pouring the wine for the both of us, I stood next to Calli, and after taking a sip of wine, she spoke up:
"Time to listen to the song, I suppose. You ready, man?"
"Never been more ready." I answered. She pressed play and let the sounds of her music fill the room, from the catchy beats to her great vocals, I was once again blown away by how talented she is. One thing struck me as odd, however, listening to the lyrics, I couldn't help but think they seemed familiar. I was about to ask her about them, when she cut me off as if she read my mind:
"I... Wrote this song about us. It's really subtle, but I guess you figured it out, huh?" She seemed to be blushing even more. My face followed suit, turning red as well.
"You must think this is weird coming from me, I wanted to make a song like this for a while now..." she added, letting her more insecure side out.
"Not at all," I answered, "I'm really happy you did something like this for me..." Not even letting myself finish my thoughts, I hugged her instinctively out of happiness, taking her slightly by surprise before she returned the favor.
"I'm really glad you liked it, (Y/N), I was afraid you wouldn't."
"How could I dislike anything that comes from you?" I asked, pretty sure she blushed even more after hearing that. Shortly after, I broke the hug and awkwardly asked:
"So, anyway, should we have dinner now? Can't let our food get cold."
"I suppose you're right, itadakibon appetit!" she said in her cute brand of Japanese mixed with English.

The rest of the night was spent by discussing the song over several glasses of wine each, both of us getting a little tipsy after some time. We decided it would be the best if I stayed the night over, both of us quickly falling asleep in her bed, the red wine and hard work taking its toll on us both. Seeing her already dreaming of something nice, as she had a smile on her face, I kissed her forehead before drifting off to sleep myself...
