Hugs from The Ancient Ones - Ninomae Ina'nis x reader

This was requested by a friend on FB, you know who you are, I sent you the link as I finished anyways. Hope you all enjoy this one, sorry I didn't add any of Ina's signature puns in this one, I'll do my best to get some in next time I write an Ina fic.

(Your POV)

It being a winter day meant that the temperature outside would drop significantly, which I don't understand how someone can be a fan of. Though it is perfect weather to stay cooped up in your room and playing video games. As I was playing some stuff on my TV, I heard a knock and my door opening, it was my cute roommate.

"Hey, (Y/N), what are you doing?" Ina spoke in a soft, quiet voice, unexpected from an eldritch abomination she is supposed to be. 

"Oh, hey Ina, I'm just playing video games for a bit, I have a day off and I don't feel like doing anything else. Wanna watch me play for a bit?" I asked her as I paused the game and looked at her. Man, was she as cute as usual.

"I'd love to, want me to fetch some snacks though?"

"Yeah, sure, but you don't have to go, I'll go grab some from the kitchen, you can just sit here and wait for me." I told her as she just let out her signature "humu humu" and nodded while entering my room and passing by me.

After a bit, I finally returned with a bowl of chips and some dip, sitting myself down on the couch next to her. Just as I did, though, she got closer to me. I didn't pay much thought to it though, just thought it was a bit weird of her to do that since she's usually calm and reserved.

While we were just chatting and occasionally eating, I couldn't focus much on the game and shut it off so I could pay more attention to the conversation we've had. At one point, Ina asked me a pretty weird question though.

"Hey, what would you do if I hugged you?" Her words were met with a confused noise and a blush from me, and after directing my gaze towards her face, I could see her face wasn't any less red than mine.

"I, I- uhh... What kind of question is that?" I said as I scrambled for words, clearly confused and just as embarrassed as Ina was. "I guess I would, h-hug back..." I continued while looking away from her face. I wanted to say something else, but as I opened my mouth, Ina interrupted me with a hug, probably to find out the answer to her own question. 

As she hugged me, we both fell on the couch and she was on top of me. I hugged her back. I could hear her be slightly surprised by that, but as she got more comfortable, she held me tighter. After a couple of seconds which felt longer than they actually were, she let go of me and quickly moved away a bit, looking away from me. I caught a glimpse of her face and it was even redder than mine. 

The atmosphere in the room went from fun and chatty to awkward really quickly, even leaving us with a minute or so of awkward silence. I knew I had to say something to make it less uncomfortable, so I spoke up.

"Want to... hug again?"

"Y-yeah, but could you close your eyes for a bit first?" I did as she said and after a couple of moments I felt the familiar feeling of being hugged. When I opened my eyes, I saw that she got her tentacles out now.

"Can I hug you with these too then?" She asked me calmly, fully expecting me to refuse due to being afraid or disgusted.  I could hear that my affirmative answer surprised her a bit, judging from the noise she let out before blushing and slowly swaying towards me. I have to admit, I was a bit scared, but I trusted Ina would do nothing to harm me.

I instinctively closed my eyes as they got approached me, but got hit with a wave of reassurance when I felt her tentacles hold me tightly, but gently. I saw Ina smile and blush, obviously radiating happiness as she pulled me close to her, noticing I wasn't afraid or unsettled. As she did, I put my hands around her and snuggled her. 

We stayed in that position for a while, enjoying each other's warmth and comfort, before Ina broke the hug and kissed me on my cheek.

"I should have told you this before, but I... I think I love you , (Y/N)..." She whispered into my ear softly, immediately making me blush even more and feel happy and warm. 

"I love you too, Ina" I whispered back before going in for another hug "I'll never get enough of you."
