(Your Pov)

School passed quickly over the next two days. The first day was purely awkward glances between Peter and you, as you tried to focus on the tips MJ was trying to explain to you. That Peter will probably be more nervous than you, it's still a first date so don't worry, if the worst comes to past Peter will still be your friend, ect. But that wasn't exactly what you were worried about. You were torn between Peter and your soulmate. You and MJ both decided that it was a safe assumption to assume he was Loki, and you didn't know how you felt about it. Obviously ecstatic, but didn't he destroy New York? Another thing, how did he destroy New York if he was unconscious? The pains were the only thing that didn't add up, but it seemed like too much of a sensitive topic to discuss just yet.

After school on Friday, you and Peter finally discussed the date a bit further. You hadn't been avoiding each other, but your friendship was bordering on relationship/dating status, so you had every right to be nervous. Still, you agreed to meet each other at the diner around five.

You doubted Peter would stand you up, especially since he unknowingly had a whole lot riding on this. Namely his internship. It's not like you purposely threatened him or anything, but your dad being... well, a dad- said if Peter broke your heart in an unnecessary manner then he would be 'kicked out'. But you doubted that would happen. Peter was nice. And you were still on Peter's side, if nothing more than a friend.

So now it was almost an hour after school, and you had about two hours of free time before having to meet up with him. With nothing better to do on a Friday afternoon, you head to the tower's library. The library was definitely one of your favorite places, if only for the giant fireplace in the middle of the room. Because every library had to have a cozy fireplace and old fancy armchairs. Every single one.

You had been doing a bit of extra research about norse mythology, trying to get a feel for your soulmate. Obviously the myths and the actual people or places are going to be different, but it was definitely helpful. You learned a lot about Thor, Odin, Frigga, and your soulmate- Loki. Plus a bunch of other stuff that has never been mentioned by Thor since you've known him, which made you doubt if it truly existed or not.

As you were brushing up on a page about Mjolnir, the familiar tap at the back of your mind started. A smile finds its way on your face, as you hear his voice again.

'Miss me?' You laugh silently at his tease, placing your bookmark in between the pages of your latest reading material.

'Always.'

'What are you up to?'

'Extensive Research.'

'So mysterious. What about?'

'Norse mythology, actually. I'm interested in my soulmate's culture.' That comment earned you a little laugh from his side.

'So you read children's tales?'

'It's not- I mean- It's kind of the only material I have right now. Plus it's a new perspective, so...' You trail off, slightly embarrassed at being caught mid-act.

'New perspective like what, I might ask?' You search for an appropriate story, one that could tease him without getting too much on his nerves.

'Old stories. Like the one where the trickster god gives birth to a horse.'

'What!' Yep. Definitely struck a nerve. 'That is preposterous. I- He has never given birth to a horse.' Ooh, and he stumbled. He was almost always so silver-tounged, although he often slipped up if you pricked his buttons. And being his soulmate... you were very good at doing just that.
