Timing. A funny thing really. When you first arrived in the glade, things were confusing, scary. Newt helped you through that. He was kind, respected, hilarious. A true good person to be around, and you couldn't stop the feelings you had for him. But he never liked you like that, at least, in the Glade. In the Wicked compound and the stretch, is where things started changing for him. He started noticing the smaller things about you. How much he loved your laugh, your smile, your determination to get out and save the other children. While you were shoving your feelings away, his started developing. It seemed like things were heading for the better, when you reached the safe heaven. Laughs and memories were exchanged, and then Thomas exposed your crush on Newt in the glade. He was shocked, of course. You were embarrassed. For a few days things were awkward, Newt wanting to know if you still liked him, and cursing himself for not noticing quicker, and you desperately wanting to avoid him at all costs. Eventually he found you.
