Editor's Note: Sorry for the late update, but there haven't been very many reads or votes on the last chapter. Now that the rush of the holiday is over, maybe I'll have time to edit more chapters. The first book is completely done, except for editing. Talon is working on the second book, but it's slow work. Enjoy!

"Why are you here?" I asked cautiously.

It was that young man again. He had that very same enticing smile I was finding myself attracted to. He was gazing upon me not as a person, but as if I were a prize. He remained silent and that only agitated me more.

"Answer me now. Who are you and why are you here? You're a freak of nature..." I said frantically. My voice was rising after each word, I was becoming terrified.

He took the initiative and walked a few steps forward slowly. I found myself backing away with each step he took, but soon after the world as I saw it became a blur and I found myself pinned to a wall within the blink of an eye. How did he reach me from such a distance when he was yards away? He was nowhere within arm’s reach of me and yet here he stood, my arms pinned, and I at his mercy again.

"I tend to get that a lot." He responded with a brief chuckle and a victorious grin came across his face, exposing those very same ice white fangs I had witnessed before.

"Please don't hurt me..." I pleaded.

My heart was racing, my legs became weak and I would have collapsed, but he held me firmly, pressing his cool body against mine as hot and cold began to mix within one another. His eyes, those scarlet red eyes, were set upon mine. His body was so close and pressed against mine. We were literally sandwiched together, his hands treading slowly over my body. His forehead rested upon mine and his lips... they were so close to mine. I felt the winter breeze escape his lips and pedal their way across the edge of my very own. I was terrified and yet, he was captivating me. He must have had a spell on me because I knew at that moment he would kill me, but why was I so attracted to my soon-to-be-murderer? Why lust for such a person?

"Are you afraid?" He spoke his question in a chilling, yet luring tone. A trick question at best where either answer would be wrong. As ignorant as it was to play with death, I took my chances and replied with a question of my own.

"Should I be afraid?" I spoke hesitantly and gazed upon his eyes mercifully. He looked into mine and his grin was gone. He was serious now... I may have made a grave mistake.

"You're a brave one I'll give you that, but ignorant."

With that, he sunk his fangs into my neck as I let out a scream of agony and oddly, pleasure... Soon everything went black and my screams were replaced with a melody. Was I singing? No. This was a famous singer's voice... Bring Me To Life, by Amy Lee? My eyes slowly opened, my ears rung from a very loud radio playing from across the room. It was Alibeth who had been the cause of the noise, and had made me conclude everything was but a dream.

"Ugh... Ali... Why is your radio so loud?"

I complained as I rolled myself in a cocoon under the covers and pillows. Alibeth turned around as if she were caught red handed and paused the song with a remote.

"I... Sorry, Victoria. I forgot you stay here too."

She rubbed her head embarrassed, smiling as she prowled like a feline towards my bed, hopping on it.

"Ouch... I don't exist?" I said as if my feelings were hurt. I was teasing her. She obviously took it to heart and pulled through an opening of my cover and unveiled my cocoon, looking at me with grimace.
