"WHY CAN'T I go too?"

"No."

"That's hardly an answer, Nebula. I'll just take two seconds to grab my other knives and then we can—"

"No. You're not needed."

"I disagree, very strongly."

"No."

Leena paused.

Her brown eyes darkened as she looked at her sister whose own face remained impressively emotionless. Leena tilted her head. Nebula continued to stare at her. Her eyes unmoving, not even to blink.

Quill and Rocket had informed them that there was a problem with a few planets in a galaxy a couple jumps away. They had collapsed into civil war after the positions of power in their governments opened up after the Snap, no one could decide on a leader. It was drawing a lot of unwanted attention.

"Which is it? The Terrain's want to keep an eye on me here or is it that Quill—" Leena's mind flashed back to the moment she saw the utter dread and despair cross his face when he had realised Gamora had been killed, "— Quill doesn't want me around? Which one is it?"

Nebula looked down momentarily before lifting her gaze back up. She didn't utter a single word but that was all Leena needed.

"Both? It's both?" Leena asked, throwing her hands up in the air in annoyance, "oh come on! This is ridiculous! How can I even try to help bring people back if no one lets me do anything?"

"It's about trust, Leena."

"Trust?" She asked incredulously, "all we have to do is focus on the job, and that's to bring everyone back. We don't need to hold hands and sing!"

Nebula breathed out an irritated breath as she walked away from Leena and sat down in the commanders chair, bringing up the coordinates of where she had to go on the console.

"This is stupid," Leena continued to mumble as she paced up and down the ship, her boots thudding against the metal. "Trust? They don't trust me? I'm not sure why, I haven't killed any of them yet, that's more than enough reason for them to trust me!"

"No!" Nebula shouted in frustration, "it's not enough, Leena! The Terrain's are exactly the type to hold hands and sing, have you not seen the way they interact with one another? They care deeply about each another, it's disgusting but it's what they do."

"But they trust me enough to get the job done?" Leena retorted, crossing her arms over her chest as she shook her head. "Or should I just assume that this is my imprisonment. To be trapped on a planet where they cannot tell their foot from their arse. Am I finally reaping the sorrows I helped Thanos to sow?"

"It's not your imprisonment either, Leena, don't be so dramatic," Nebula sighed irritably. "I had to earn my trust with Gamora's family, as much as it pained me at the time, I had to let myself trust them."
