ONCE HER HEAD hit the pillow, Leena was out for the count. Her thoughts drifted aimlessly into an empty abyss of darkness while her body flopped lifelessly on top of the covers, she didn't bother to slot herself under for warmth. Her body had barely managed to grab an hour of peaceful, uninterrupted sleep, before she was rudely awoken by a tightened grip around her neck.

Her eyes flickered wide open as she gasped awake. She was suddenly forced from her bed and lifted in the air. Her fingers clawed at the invisible force around her neck. Her breathing ceased.

"Where is he?"

Leena choked out an incoherent grunt while her mouth salivated.

"Where is he?" He repeated, tersely.

The grip on her throat tightened. Leena tried to blink away the black spots in her vision as she kicked the air, and continued to scratch at her throat. The floating figure of her brother, Ebony Maw, appeared in her blackened, watery vision.

Her arms dropped limply beside her while her fingers twitched. She was losing consciousness. Just before her eyelids fell shut, she curled her fingers and black wisps of smoke trailed around Ebony Maw, channeling his energy. His hold on Leena weakened. She flopped to the floor while her heart hammered in her chest as she forced air into her burning lungs after he released her.

"You dare use your powers against me? You imbecile!" Ebony Maw moved his hand, and a slap of ice cold air smacked Leena on her red splotched cheek. She barely winced because she was too preoccupied with regulating her breathing. Her shaking hand held her bruised neck, and stared up at Ebony Maw with narrowed eyes.

"Are," she paused to swallow, her throat felt tense, "are you serious?" She slowly pushed herself up into a standing position, leaning against the wall as a chill nipped at her skin.

She looked at Ebony Maw and her eyes widened slightly when she noticed the state of his face. It was red raw in bubbling blisters, his scaled skin was peeling in odd places while blood trickled down his blotchy face. His skin looked as if it had swelled with odd lumps and bumps while his eyes were bloodshot, he was blinking ferociously.

"What the hell happened to you?" She asked, her voice scratching her throat. She rubbed her bruised neck while blinking away the excess water in her eyes. "Take a trip into outer space?"

Ebony Maw snarled and lifted his hand, threateningly. Leena's eyes darkened while she curled her fingers, she could feel the white hot anger crawling over her skin. She was tired of being thrown around by him. The trail of ink circled around Ebony Maw, his bloodshot eyes warily followed the ink creeping towards him.

"Don't piss me off," Leena gritted her teeth. "I'm not in the mood, and looking at the state of you, brother, you have no chance against me."

She curled her fingers and black ropes of energy currents coiled around Ebony Maw's wrists and feet, she pushed her palm outwards and he was forced against the wall with a loud smack. As she channelled his power and a coil wrapped around his neck, black lines were painted around her eyes that had glazed over, his own body was his worse enemy under Leena's precious fingertips.
