Chapter 15 - Faith In Love

VIC'S POV

"If we still love each other, what are we waiting for?" Elle took my hand.

"What?" I mumbled

"I've realised I don't want to lose you. Not in any sense of the word."

"You're saying you'll have me back?"

"Of course I will Vic"

"Well we have to do this properly. Elle, the stage hand from Friday, will you be my girlfriend?" She laughed at me. I added "Again"

Laughing, she lent over and kissed me. The first time on my forehead.

"Really? We're just doing forehead kisses? Come here!" I reached out and took her face into my hand and brought her lips crashing onto mine. They were as soft as the day I had first kissed them. She hadn't any make up on, so instead of the usual red, they remained a natural rosy pink, like her cheeks as she blushed, flustered from the happiness the kiss had brought.

"My hand really hurts." I winced as I held my arm up to insoect the bandage.

"You went pretty deep" Elle said quietly

"I'm sorry, you know?"

" What for?" She questioned.

"For you having to see me like tha again. It had been so long and I really tried to recover, I swear, but as soon as you were gone there didn't seem a point. I didn't see it spiralling out of control so quickly and for that I am truly sorry."

"Did you mean to, you know, go deep enough to die?"

"I don't think so, not that I remember. If I'm honest, I don't think I would have cared if I had of, you know, died."

"I'm sorry"

"Don't be. I think we need to agree not to blame either of us for the break up. I do blame myself for not making an effort to explain pr go after you-"

"You did everything you could. I blame myself for being stubborn and not listening."

"Even stevens then" I winked at her.

"I think Jaime and Tony will want to come and visit so I'm gonna go and get a coffee. I'll be right back."

"Leaving me already?" I did a fake cry

"Shut up." She giggled as she headed for the door. 

"I love you" she added before walking out.

A moment later, Tony walked in.

"Man you look funny in that hospital dress."

"Shut the fuck up or you'll have to leave. Doctor's orders" We both laughed.

Tony put his head back out of the door.

"Jaime, just come in dude."

"But Vic's gonna hate me" I heard his voice from outside.

"Why the fuck would I hate? I know what happened and it isn't your fault." Jaime shuffled in, staring at his toes.

"I'm sorry" Jaime sniffled as he spoke and I could sense how upset he was.

"Come here" I sat myself up and brought him in for a hug.

"I love you man" 

" I know you do"

"When you were lying there it reminded me of when I found her lying there. I couldn't go through it again. I felt so guilty and I don't want to lose you." He started sobbing and sank into the chair against the wall.
