"Babe. I'm freaking out."
"Don't be," she chuckled as she comfortingly rubbed her hand over his back. "I've been to a few record stores in Miami and yours is definitely the best. Tonight is going to go great."
"Yeah, but you're biased. You have to say that."
"No I don't! When have I ever lied to you?" Shawn huffed and dropped his shoulders. She had a point. Still, he was incredibly nervous that no one would show up to his store's grand opening that night.
"What if no one shows up?"
"It's a free event with free food. People are gonna show up."
"Speaking of...have you heard from the caterer?"
"I sure have!" she replied with a smile. "They'll be here at two."
"Okay." He took a deep breath as he did a final sort-through of one of the racks of records.
"I've got to go to the boutique for a while but I'll be back before the party, okay?" She watched her boyfriend as he turned around to face her and leaned down to give her a kiss. "Don't stress yourself over this too much. Today's a really big day; make sure you let yourself enjoy it."
"I will," he whispered in response before kissing her forehead.
Camila hoped she would be able to take the entire day of his grand opening off of work but she still needed to go in for a little bit. It wasn't the worst thing in the world, though; she loved her job.
"So how are things with you and your man?" Palmer, one of the consultants that worked with Camila asked as they steamed some dresses together.
"Shawn? Things are really, really good." Camila's lips curled into a smile just at the thought of him.
"Yeah? Think you'll be in here picking out a dress of your own anytime soon?" Palmer wiggled her eyebrows.
"I don't know," she chuckled. "I love him more than I ever thought I could love someone and I have no doubt in my mind that he's the one I'm going to spend the rest of my life with...but neither of us feel the need to rush things. We're both in this for life but we also still have a lot of learning to do together."
"That's sweet. You guys are cute together. I mean, I've never met him...but anytime you post something of you guys on Instagram I always think you guys are so precious."
"Thanks," Camila giggled. She made a mental note to post something on her Instagram later about how proud she was of him for opening his own store. She found herself checking the time often to see how much longer until she got to go home and get ready for the grand opening. As soon as the clock hit 3pm she gathered her things and got in her car to head home. She took her time getting ready and she couldn't deny that she looked good. Her hair was down in big, voluminous curls and her makeup was bronzed and sultry. Her outfit was the perfect combination of casual and sexy.
