"Admit it. With your own voice."
"I want to live alone. Move beyond the desperate people. Forever."
"Nothing stands eternal." The man sighed. "Time inevitably takes its playthings back."
"Spit it out. If not, I'll find another way."
"Such is the truth. However much might we stockpile, one day the future will forsake us in the past."
"What power?"
"Similiar to humans, we grow with age. Yet life rejects the dead. I could roam around the entire city. Now my office keeps me a prisoner. Can you bear such a cross?"
My lips dried. "Yes."
"Leave now. I shall describe your road after the subsequent job. Come if you still seek it."
