"You are still miserable because they're not heroes?"
"Correct." He closed his eyes, tilted his head backward, and whispered, as if from a dream. "So, I must become one."
I blinked.
"Shocked?" he smiled. "Come on. Why else did you bring me to the last talk?"
Sweat broke on my forehead. "You were serious!"
"If he rejects the possibility, I will take it. You want to achieve immortality. Now we are together in that." He rose his fist for a greeting.
"Together?" We would never stand by each other's side! I planned to abandon the hopeless people, not love them!
"Yes. A little company will help during the ages of imprisonment. Plus, I won't be a human. Then you might not hate me, right? We can save this town. You accept, don't you?"
