EDWARD told her he'd think about it, which meant one of two answers. It was either, "Definitely, no," or, "Maybe, but I will never like you that way."

She wasn't even asking for that. She simply wanted to help him because he for sure needed some kind of a confidence booster. The guy was practically hanging on by a string. And what was better for confidence than a girlfriend without all the upkeep? Her plan was brilliant, and she was positive it would have Bella Swan back in Edward's arms soon enough.

But then ... would he have time for their friendship? Would she simply go back to being his lab partner that burnt her hand on boiling chemicals?

Sage shook her head and mulled over his answer as she ate her cereal that morning. Her dad left her a note on the fridge, detailing that he'd be away for a job today in the vaguest way possible. That left Sage alone in the house for a whole Saturday with her thoughts. A teenager's dream come true.

Well, she had to finish her English essay on the Picture of Dorian Gray, and then ... no, she finished that. And her math homework too. So her essay was the only thing really pressing. But was it, though? She had almost the whole thing written, and it wasn't due until next Wednesday –

Sage let out an annoyed groan and finished the rest of her cereal. She sucked down the remaining chocolate milk in the bowl, wiped her mouth on the back of her hand, and set it in the sink. Tapping her fingers against the edge of the counter, Sage looked back at her dad's note, scrutinizing the damn-near illegible scribbles, before her eyes drifted down.

A save the date postcard.

Sage smacked her forehead. How could she forget? Her Aunt Ria's wedding in Oregon was coming up soon – like soon soon. Within a month. Shit, shit, shit. Sage felt like such a dumbass. For weeks, she'd been so consumed by schoolwork and figuring out Edward Cullen's deal that she hadn't even considered her aunt's wedding was coming up. She needed a dress, she needed shoes, and what the hell was she going to do with her hair –
