It's a dark late evening when Karen hears loud screaming coming from her son Charlie's room. She starts to get worried and all she could think was something bad was happening. She rushes to his room when she saw him screaming in his sleep.
"Charlie wake up it's just a bad dream'" she soothes.
He's startled as he wakes up and he starts crying Karen hugs him tightly rubbing his back.
"Charlie what's going on?" She asks.
"Mum Leo hasn't replied for 3 days and I'm really worried about him." He stutters.
'"Charlie he could be grounded off his phone for awhile stop overthinking." She exclaims.
"Mum I would know that if that was the case as that happened before, but his mother let me know about it. Leondre would tell me this otherwise plus he's told me he's being bullied at school." He stammers. "We have to go to Port Talbot for a while and see if Leo is okay!" He shouts breathing heavily.
"I know where his school is and the lessons he has so I can find him." He says with tears in his eyes.
"We will go tomorrow morning for a week, but for now you need to go to sleep." She rubs his shoulder.
Brooke comes into the room very tired due to be woken up by the conversation.
"What about school?" She raised her eyebrow at her mother.
"Charlie needs to check up on his friend Leo he's worried about him he'll have to finally meet him this way." She says calmly.
It's nice sunny Monday morning Charlie is booking a triple hotel room at Port Talbot for himself and his family. They start packing their suitcases then head to school, but Charlie skipped. When Karen came home from work to see he wasn't at school she wasn't happy about it.
"You didn't go to school?" She asks folding her arms raising an eyebrow at him.
"I was packing." He says.
"Charlie you needed to go to school don't do that again." She says and he nods his head.
*2 hours later*
Brooke comes home from school she had her friend Amber with her.
"Hey mum, hey Charlie this is my friend Amber." She introduced her and she shakes their hands.
"Nice to meet you Amber." Karen smiles at her.
Charlie didn't say anything he just continued packing the suitcase.
"Could Amber and I go to the mall please?" She asks.
"Yes, but be back before 9 please." Karen says.
Amber and Brooke leave to go to the mall when she got back she noticed Charlie was still packing she looks at him laughing.'
"You haven't finished packing yet?" She questions.
"I'm done now it just won't shut." He grunts trying to close the case.
"I'll help you." She smiles.
Brooke pushed the case down as Charlie slides the zip around and they get it shut together.
"Only just shut what have you packed?" She laughs.
"Well." He trails. "Clothes, first aid kit, food, water, minion game console, shoes, toiletry bag and money." He says.
"In case Leo is injured." He sighs.
Brooke frowned as she saw the tears in his eyes.
"It will be fine brother." She hugs him tightly and he hugs her back.
The next day it was a nice sunny day once again they headed off to the train station they reached the platform after several hours of waiting the train finally arrived. The train ride was very boring,
but it only took a few hours until they arrived into Wales.
"You go to the hotel I will look for Leo." Charlie speaks.
After a bus journey to Leo's school he finally arrived he decided to wait for Leo in front of the school.'
'Suddenly Charlie recognised the stalker that Leo told him about that's been abusing him he was shown a picture of him once before. Some of Charlie's institution tells him to follow this guy then he saw him talking to Leo. Charlie started to eavesdrop in their conversation hiding behind the bushes.
"Leo where's your phone?" The bully pokes him.
"Please leave me alone I haven't contacted Charlie I swear!" Leo pleads.'
'Suddenly this tall boy appears out of nowhere.
"Hit him!" The bully yells pointing to Leo.
The other boy hits Leo really hard in the stomach causing him to fall to the ground.
Charlie couldn't take much anymore, but even in this situation he keeps his cool. Charlie runs over quickly to help Leo out as he couldn't bare to see Leo hurt.
"Leave my best friend alone!" Charlie shouts.
The moment they saw Charlie was older and stronger they quickly ran away scared.
Charlie notices how sad Leo was and hugged him.
"Everything alright?" He asks.
"Yeah." Leo lied that's when Charlie noticed the bruises all over his body.
"Oh my god how many do you have?" He gasps.
"I don't count." Leo sighs. "But a lot." Bursting into tears.
"Don't cry Leo I will never let them hurt you again." Charlie hugs him tightly.
