Chapter-13~Explanations~Part-1

Skye had been amazing to be when I turned up on her doorstep,  she totally understood and took me under her wing. It had been three days of pranks, dares and ice cream and by now me and Skye were running out of ideas.

"Skye, coco pops is getting boring, " I whined purposely in her ear.

"Fine, we can make rocky roads,"

"Really?"

"Yup, le Skyes recipe of  rocky roads," she said in a fake french accent.

She pulled out chocolate digestives, coco pops, mini marshmallows (surprisingly halal) raisins and cooking chocolate. She melted a small amount of choclate and added a handful of coco pops. Crushing two digestives she added them, marshmallows and raisins. She mixed it until everything was covered in chocolate, placed it in a tray and into the fridge.

After a game of snap she pulled out the tray of hard rocky road, and sliced it into squares.

"There," she said, as she placed a pile on my plate.

"Its amazing, " I mumbled through a mouthful and chocolate covered teeth.

"Ewwww, don't talk with your........."

She was interrupted by the sound of post sliding from the post box. I froze. Skye ran out into the hall to grab it. Somewhere in there would be.....

"The results,"

I tore open the envelope with a thudding heart.

Dear Miss Skye Whiteworth Taylor, Miss Ameera Mohammed Bibi.

We have scanned and verified your results during your D.N.A test taken on the 4th May, 2:30 P.M.

After the multiple scans and verifications we have come to a conclusion.

CONCLUSION: Miss Skye Whiteworth Taylor and Miss Ameera Mohammed Bibi are both non identical twins. Born on 5th of July 1991. Mother Mrs.........

My heart beat stopped, time carried on but me and Skye were frozen.

"No," she whispered.

"I don't believe it," I said firmly slapping the letter on the table.

"I...I.........how, how, how could they leave their own child, how?" She whispered.

"It's not how, it's why, there's gotta be an explanation," she said through gritted teeth.

"You don't leave your child, no matter what,"

"Skye...........,"

"Leave it, go home," she said shortly.

So I did just that.
