Lost in thought, Fiona slightly flinched when a painful groan was heard from the beast, whose back was facing her. He clenched onto his left calf and rolled a little on his back. Quickly, she moved closer to him. That is when she noticed how badly the Beast was wounded.
There was a very deep cut on the calf of his leg and the thick red fluid kept oozing out of it. Besides that, many bruises and scratches were scattered all over his body. Her eyes softened at the sight of such a majestic creature becoming so vulnerable because of his wounds. Being a person who always cared about others' well-being, she couldn't help but offer the Beast some assistance.
"Excuse me?" she said softly.
Immediately the beast stopped moving and turned his head in the direction of the foreign sound.
"Can I help you? You seem to be terribly injured." she continued softly.
"No." he replied curtly and attempted to get up from the ground onto his feet. The mighty creature propped his scraped elbows onto the ground and pushed his body up to slowly reach a sitting position. Fiona watched his actions very closely to help him out whenever required.
"Are you sure don't need any help?" she inquired yet again. This time the beast doesn't reply, instead he slowly prepares to stand up. But the wound on his leg prevented him from doing so. As soon as he tried to stand up, his legs seem to have lost all the strength in them and he falls back on the ground with a huge thud. Fiona was becoming more impatient seeing the struggle of the Beast.
"Just let me he- "
"I SAID NO!" the beast said, annoyed. This made the witch press her lips together in a straight line. He tried to stand a couple more times but failed miserably. After a few more tries he became wearier and wearier and finally gave up on trying to stand.
The witch who had been silent for some time spoke again. "Are you done? Will you let me help you now?"
"Go away." He said in his bold voice.
"Goodness! Just let me help you alright? You're in such a bad condit- "
"JUST. LEAVE. ME. ALONE!" he cut her, emphasizing each word.
"Are you serious right now?! Look at you! You can barely even move, let alone stand!"
"I said- "
"Oh, you, my friend, have said enough! Now you listen and don't even try to argue with me, alright? My house is very close by. You are going to go there with me and I'm going to treat those wounds. End of discussion." She said while pointing at his leg, trying to act stern.
The Beast looked down at the ground defeated. Suddenly everything became silent. The only thing that could be heard was the distant chirping of birds and rustling of leaves due to the slow breeze, the Beast slowly looked up at Fiona with a slight pout and puppy eyes. "So are we going or what"
"Well.. that's was quick... trying to act tough, huh, mister??" He rolled his eyes at her and she giggled at this. "Anyway, the question now is" she continued, "how do I take you there? You can most definitely not walk and I don't think I'll be able to help carry someone as... umm.. as.. 'huge??' ... as yourself, all by myself."
"Umm.. you said your house is close by, right?"
"Yeah..?"
"Hmm... I guess I can help you a little with that."
"How is that?"
A small smile appeared on the beast's face and he looked down at a small chain that hung around his broad neck. He takes the sparkling emerald pendant between his fingers and murmurs something to himself. Immediately his body begins to change in appearance.
His initially huge body now shrunk to that of a 5'11" human body size. The arms and legs that were once hairy with his smooth and thick walnut fur turned into perfectly defined biceps and long, well-toned legs. His spine-chilling claws and ferocious fangs were long gone and replaced with long, slender fingers and the cutest dimpled smile. His transformed form was wearing a worn-out black v-neck t-shirt and faded grey shorts.
Who knew, hidden behind the appearance of the mighty Beast was one of the most innocent-looking and insanely handsome men. Fiona was completely awestruck at the sight of the transformed man in front of her, as she stood there with her eyes opened wide and jaw dropped. She couldn't believe what she saw.
The man in front of her, softly chuckled when he noticed the witch's reaction. "Like what you see, miss?" he grinned. The former quickly snapped back to reality and fumbled, "N-no... umm..sorry... I-I didn't mean t-to-"
"Haha... it's okaay... I was just kidding" he said while grinning at how the witch had suddenly become so nervous. Fiona, on other hand, was flushed red due to embarrassment.
He spoke again, "Thank you for offering to help earlier and I'm sorry for being rude, I just had a lot going on in my head."
"Oh, nono.. don't worry about it. That's okay... I'm Fiona, by the way"
"Ahh..nice to meet you, Fiona, I'm Kim Namjoon."
As soon as she heard that name, a memory flashed in her mind.
"Yahh!! Namjoonahh! I told you not to enter the kitchen ever again! Now look what you've done!" voice of a boy screaming.
"Hyungg!! I'm so sorryyyy. I swear I was only getting a glass of water!!" voice of another boy pleading.
"Glass of water??!! Then explain to me why the kitchen was almost about to burn down to ASHES!!" the first voice sounded again.
"HYUNG! Please believe me! I'm innocent!!""Namjoon? Why do I feel like I've heard this name before?" Fiona said to herself quietly, but it didn't go unheard by the Beast, however, he carefully chose to leave that question unanswered.
"Let's go, shall we?" he beamed, pulling her out of her trance.
"Yeah.. let's go"
