🌺_______________🌺
People would say wanting a family in the middle of a zombie apocalypse is a crazy thought, a dumb imagination, an unacceptable act of one's true desire, and a pretty unforgivable act - who the fuck would risk their lives, risk their newborn babies life just to have something you could have achieved before the war, before everything, is it a selfish act of one's true nature? Why risk having a child in the middle of a zombie pandemic, why risk having a child in the middle of something so deadly to humans? - a zombie apocalypse is no playground for kids, or even some adults for that matter. In what still functional mind does someone see it as "ok" to have sex, intentionally, just to have a kid? who sees that as okay?

You would be risking more than you could chew, more than you can hunt, your own blood, someone young and defenseless against the broken world - imagine wanting to see them, your own child, grow old but only to have that taken away from you in less than a second.. you'll only have yourself to blame for bringing them into the world if they end up being killed by the dead or N.E.R.O or other scavengers, travelers, drifters or someone who is mentally challenged by all the crazy things they have faced. And whoever is reading this should know who I'm talking about.

If they did die by any one of those things listed who could you really blame here? Of course there is the person or group, who committed the crime- but you're the one who thought it was okay to start a family somewhere unsafe in the first place, in a time where starting a family seems very unwise, dangerous.

And that is why, right now this second. Y/n, a young woman who had so many dreams, so many hopes, so many achievements to accomplish- a woman who just wanted an easy life, a loving household, a neighbourly neighbourhood, a girl who wished to start a family, somewhere fresh and safe....is now currently crying softly on the balcony of the safehouse.

She has a husband named Deacon Lee St. John, her beloved husband was out hunting for the evening, having no clue that his girl- his wife -is facing something he could never possibly understand. And to say she was terrified of her husband's reaction, would be an understatement.

Y/n was completely freaked out, she was scared, confused, angry, hurt, she had no idea what to do- or how to tell Deacon the news. Would he take it well and still love her? Would he still love y/n but make her make a hard decision she knew she couldn't possibly go through so by default Deacon leaves? Would Deacon just outright forget about y/n and live his own life away from her and the baby growing inside her stomach? will Deacon reject absolutely everything he's hearing just to decide he should call the woman he loves a liar?

There were tons of thoughts flooding through the poor woman's mind. His reaction and reply to the news is what matters the most right now, she needs to tell him- but can't seem to find the courage too.. y/n needs Deacon more than anything at this time. But lately Deacon has been busy dealing with other drifters, random lowlifes who have no where to be/go, he has side work to do for camps all around the safehouse area - Deacon's schedule is clogged up. There's never a right time to tell him anything, especially as of late, personal, deep, meaningful conversations. Those types of chats have to wait, but how long can y/n exactly wait? It's already hard enough not telling him anything.. so waiting until he's done being busy was extra effort, but sure enough should be worth it. And the woman thinks that lightly, seeing if Deacon truly did love her, he wouldn't leave over a little mistake.... or planned baby.

Knowing Deacon he probably won't refuse the news, he'll take it as it is, there's nothing he can do about it surly - Deacon has talked about marriage, he wanted to marry this woman.. and he eventually did - Deacon also talked about having kids in the future. But not often enough to tell y/n that if she ever falls pregnant, they'll deal with it together- they'll be happy, no matter what situation.
