Lucy's P.O.V
I can't even wrap my head around this situation right now. I am on on top of Natsu, in a jacuzzi, and we just had the receptionist guy yell at us for being "loud."
Natsu asked me if I was okay, and is looking up at me with genuine concern and surprise in my eyes. No sense of mischief or flirtatiousness. This catches me off guard but it doesn't take me long to completely comprehend the situation I am in.
"G-GAH!" I get off of him quickly, pushing his chest hard in the process and I stumble on the ledge of the jacuzzi behind me, causing me to tumble and fall backwards but this time on my butt.
"Ow!" He says from the hard push I gave him when I tried to quickly get off him.
"Geez.." he rubs his head, getting up.I rub my lower back. "Oww.."
"You okay?" He asks me again, standing up and looking at me with that look of genuine concern again.
I stare up at him and I actually have a minute to make eye contact with him longer, processing his concerned look.
I tilt my head in confusion and curiosity, forgetting to reply.
"Uh, hello? Earth to Lucy? You didn't hit your head too, did you?" He asks, raising an eyebrow.
"Wh-what? No," I shake my head, snapping out of it.
I decide not to bring up him being actually genuine and concerned for once with no trace of anything else I wouldn't like, because I know if I did, he'd immediately change his demeanor and do exactly what I said he wasn't doing."Yeah.. I'm fine." I say, continuing to rub my lower back.
"Ah geez.." he says looking down in the jacuzzi tub he's in.
I look down and there is red everywhere because of my drink that got spilled in the water.
"Oh no.." I facepalm.
"Eh, I think we'll be okay." Natsu shrugs. "I mean, they provided us with a whole snack bar. It's probably really common for people to spill their food and drinks into the water." He continues."I guess you're right.. but shouldn't we call to get this cleaned up?" I ask, staring at him still in the water.
He looks down at the water and then back up at me."Nah, I think we'll be fine." He says, sitting back down and getting comfortable.
"What? Natsu! I can't get back in, what if I stain my underwear??" I ask."Don't worry about it. All of the red is really on my side, and I'm sure it would come out anyway even if it got on you." He says nonchalantly.
I sigh before staring down back at the water, mentally contemplating whether or not I should get back in before finally deciding to just get in.
I slowly get back in and adjust in my seat, trying to pretend like all that craziness didn't just happen, but still keep a close eye on the red in the water. If it comes anywhere near me, I'm up and out of here.
I look at Natsu, he still looks just as bored as he did earlier. I rethink what happened, and me falling on top of him. I feel a little flushed, but he didn't really seem to notice how awkward that was. He was just.. worried if I was okay.
That's so.. out of character for him.I look back at his bored expression and furrow my eyebrows.
"Why did you even bring us here if you're just going to sit in silence and be bored? I ask, crossing my arms.
"I thought you were going to start the conversation?" He asks, raising an eyebrow.
"I mean, I never said that, I just said that I was going to need a drink if I'm going to be having a conversation with you." I say, proceeding to cross my legs.
"Well, why don't you start one since you just started talking first?" He rests his chin on the back of his hand.
I roll my eyes.
"So, why don't you tell me more about yourself? I told you pretty much all there is to know about me earlier, so.." I say.
I see him lower his face a bit.
"There.. isn't much to know." He replies."Ugh, seriously?" I groan. "You want me to start a conversation, I do. And this is what you say?" I ask, losing patience.
"Why don't we talk about something else." He changes the subject.
"What else is there to talk about?" I ask.
"Hmm.. how about that maid dress that will be arriving next week?" He says, his mischievous smirk returning at last.
"What is there to say about it?" I ask, not reacting to his previous, smug demeanor returning.
"I think it's time we establish more rules, yes?" He says.
"And with more rules come more boundaries." I say, looking downward more with my arms crossed.
He laughs.
"So, you're going to have to wear that maid outfit inside our apartment all day every day. And when we go out somewhere, if dress code lets you." He says.
"Wait, what? Even when we go out?? I had a feeling you'd make me wear it in our room all day, but in public? Are you kidding me? That's so embarrassing!" I say, my voice raising.
"I mean, unless you want me to let it slip that you're the, cough, princess--" his voice raises louder at the princess and causes me to react.
"No! Stop!" I yell as I stand up and start walking towards him as quick as I can.He just looks up at me, his smirk never leaving.
I just stare back down at him, my eyebrows furrowed. I just can't win, can I? This guy is impossible.
I sigh.
My angry eyebrows slowly relax, as I realize there's no getting out of this.
I take a seat next to him, not facing him.
"So, this is going to be my summer huh? Being someone's maid. To a guy who I don't even know." I say, my anger relaxes and becomes disappointment instead."Funny how things work sometimes, huh?" He says, looking from me to straight ahead.
I sigh.I slowly get back up, he turns back to face me.
"I think I want to go home soon, if you don't mind." I say, my tone growing with sorrow."Yeah, that's fine." I hear him reply nonchalantly once again.
***We've finally arrived home, and I plop down on my bed, exhausted.
Natsu stayed down at the lobby to go grab some snacks. He knew I was tired, so told me I didn't have to wait up.I sigh as I look over at his bed.
My eyes trail downwards to one of his bags. I know that bag, that's the bag where he keeps his laptop.I slowly sit up, and look at the front door to see if he'll return. After a few seconds, I rush to his laptop and begin typing something up.
Levy McGardenI haven't seen Levy since I escaped from the castle. I've had so much hard work to do after I left, I never had time to really think about how I might never see my best friend again. She helped me so much. If it weren't for her, I would not have gotten this far.
I search her up on the internet, trying to find any trace of her. I check Fairybook, Instatail, but no sign of her.
Where are you Levy? Are you still at the Kingdom?
I really wonder what "business" it was that she had to take care of.. I wish we could have left together.
I think back to our final moments together before I parted with her.
"We'll leave it up to fate. If fate decides we will meet again, then I know we will." Levy says, holding my hands and clearly fighting back tears.
I clench my fists.
No..
Screw fate.
I will find you Levy, I will. And when I do, I promise you that we will never part ways like this again. We'll live the free life we always wanted together. We'll travel the world, makes mistakes, do everything. I promise.
I'll find you.
