Chapter Seven

The weeks rolled on with the same boring routine. Wake up. Go to School. Come back from school. Do homework. Eat dinner. Stare at the ceiling for a little bit. Watch TV. Take a shower. Go to sleep. And then the cycle started all over again the next day.

Lyndon was sitting in his room after a tedious day of school where Tulip had tortured him as she did every day. That day she had "accidentally" tripped, landing with her face in Lyndon's lap. She started giggling and pretended to be embarrassed about the whole thing, but Lyndon didn't fall for it. A dog would have been able to tell that she did it on purpose.

Lyndon stared at the TV. He was watching the movie Taken. In it this former CIA agent's daughter was abducted while she was on a trip in France and the father did all this kind of stuff to try to get her back. It was actually kind of ironic because the daughter in the story kind of reminded Lyndon of Jessica because they both were abducted by sex traffickers. The only difference was that Jessica didn't have a former CIA father and she actually had to go to Russia and live the life of a prostitute.

Lyndon heard Jessica come up the stairs after her afternoon dose of pills that she had to take. Lyndon had gone through them and they were mostly antidepressants and sleeping pills. They didn't seem to work though because Lyndon heard Jess toss and turn during the entire night and she was very depressed twenty four seven three sixty five.

The bathroom door shut and the shower turned on. Lyndon, getting this weird, suspicious feeling inside his gut like something was off, turned off the TV just as the father was shot in the side and crept to the bathroom door. Jess wasn't in the shower because he only heard the steady fall of water on the shower floor and he was pretty sure that the sink was on also. He pressed his ear to the bathroom door and heard as Jessica started throwing up. It was a horrible noise. Like someone had just cut her throat and she was dying. Lyndon got scared at the sound. Was she okay?

He felt the door although he already knew that it was locked. Then, he felt around the top of the door pane and found the spare key. He put it in the lock and opened the door. Jessica was kneeling in front if the toilet in nothing but her bra and underwear with her finger shoved down her throat.

Of course, Lyndon thought, she's throwing up the drugs.

She looked up at Lyndon with a startled look on her face and quickly scrambled up from the bathroom floor. There was a look of complete fear and rage in her eyes. "What the hell are you doing?!" She exclaimed over the noise of both the shower and sink running at full speed.

Lyndon shut the door behind him to block the noise from Jess's parents who were downstairs and walked over to the sink. He turned it off and stood staring at Jessica. He was furious that she was hurting herself in such a way. No wonder the drugs weren't working. She threw them up right after she took them. "What are you doing in here, you pervert?!" Jessica yelled ripping a towel from the shelf and wrapping it around herself.

"Jessica, you better stop this. Those drugs are going to help you get better. Why are you making yourself throw them up?"

"Why do you care whether I throw them up or not? You're just here to make sure I'm safe, not be my mother!"

Lyndon took a step closer to Jessica. She looked up at Lyndon trying to look like she wasn't scared of him, but Lyndon knew that she was. "I'm here to protect you from both the people who want to hurt and also to protect you from yourself. You're hurting yourself, Jess, and you know it. So why don't you stop and just take the medication until you get better?"

Her eyes went aflame and she took a step closer to Lyndon. "You have no idea what I went through," she said in a low, sinister voice.

"I know that you went through a bad experience, Jessica! Every one knows it and every one is sorry! But, there just comes a point when you have to stop feeling sorry for yourself and start thinking about others. Like your parents. Do you know how much they love you and how much you hurt them every time you dodge them?! There are people here who are trying to help you, me included and I think that it is about time you show what is underneath the mask that you're hiding behind and let them in."

Jessica just stood there frozen. Her eyes were filling up with tears and her jaw shut so tight, she looked like she was going to grind her teeth to dust. She lifted her hand and pointed to the door. "Get out. Get the hell out."

Lyndon sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Fine. But if I find you doing this again, I swear to God that I'll go to your parents and tell them. Then you'll be sorry while you're locked up in the Looney bin with no one but a wall to talk to."

Her eyes stayed the same and she continued to point at the door. Lyndon gave her one last warning look before leaving the bathroom. She slammed the door once he left and Lyndon could have sworn he heard her start to cry.

He couldn't help but feel like he had been too hard on her.

Jessica couldn't help but break down in tears after Lyndon left the bathroom. She knew that she was hurting her parents and everyone around her. She knew that they were only trying to help. She knew that there was something wrong with her since she had gone through all the rehab and still could not get over what had happened to her. All the other girls that had been rescued landed on their feet. Jessica had landed in pieces and without the instruction manual to instruct her on how to rebuild herself into the old, pretty Jess.

It was uncalled for for Lyndon to just barge in on Jessica though. The drugs only made things worse. It was like she was back in the dark room and the haze was closing in on her like it had done while she was in Russia. They brought back the horrible memories. She didn't need the drugs. She could get better on her own. Lyndon didn't know what he was talking about.

Jessica unwrapped the towel from her body and used it to wipe away the fog that had clouded the mirror. She stared at her reflection. Her hair was ugly, sticking up all over the place and streaky in areas where she had missed spots when dying her hair. Her eyes had large crescents underneath them from the many nights that she had spent tossing and turning with the awful memories attacking her brains like kamikazes. Her shoulders were so sharp and bony that she could probably stab and kill someone by just hitting them with her shoulder bone. Her breasts had gone from 36C's to pretty much the lowest cup size possible. She looked terrible. She felt terrible. She was terrible.

Jessica wondered what Lyndon thought of her. He probably had a gorgeous, model girlfriend waiting for him at home and he couldn't go back to her because he had to babysit a screwed up chick with too many issues to count. Jessica was probably the ugliest girl he had ever seen in his life.

Tears formed in Jess's eyes and she watched as they crawled down her cheeks like snakes and ended up dripping onto the counter. She stared hard into her eyes and prayed that the torture called her life would come to an end.
