It's been three weeks since Shnelle's outburst. These few weeks were gloomy for the King family. Both Ace and Shnelle ignored each other . Other three noticed how they walked away after seeing each other. Shnelle was happy that now she do not have to face Ace everyday. Ruby being a mother noticed how angry and hurt Ace was. He was either in his room or out. Whenever he came out of his room he would shout more at workers than he usually does. Everybody observed his anger but Ruby knew he was upset by Shnelle's words. Ruby knew that she cannot blame her for everything because Ace too was at fault.
Ruby has no complaints with Shnelle. She admired this young girl,who is her daughter-in-law. She loved how she never disrespected her and Richard even after what Ace did to her. That day also she calmly explained everything to her and Richard without being annoyed.
Shnelle just entered the bakery when Jenny out of nowhere came in front of her. Shnelle felt awkward when she did not say a word and continue to stare at her strangely. Unable to stand her solemn stare she broke the silence. "Mrs Lockwood you want something?"
"No but I want to ask you a question." Jenny replied firmly demanding an answer this time.
"What do you want to ask?" Shnelle questioned her nervously.
"Just one is he really your boyfriend?"
"Who?" Shnelle said absentmindedly while making cupcakes.
"That young boy who's shouting at you yesterday. "Jenny voiced out in clipped tone. Shnelle was taken back by this but soon composed herself. She knew that she cannot tell her that Ace was her husband not boyfriend.
"Yes, he's my boyfriend, who loves me very much. "Shnelle said with a happy fake smile and focused back on her work.
"But you both do not look like a happy in love couple to me."
"Mrs Lockwood we're a very happy couple. We both love each other deeply. You might misunderstood because of that fight but it's normal for couples to fight."
"Okay" Jenny mumbled doubtfully. She still wasn't convinced by her words. Shnelle sighed in relief thanking God for not sluttering.
At 6:00pm,Shnelle was done with her shift and was about to go home after asking the Lockwood couple. But stopped when heard the ringing of bell indicating a new entry. She looked at the door only for her to drop her jaw seeing the well-defined figure of Ace King already gazing at her.
Shnelle walked towards him to ask why he's here but on feeling Jenny's curious eyes changed her mind. So Shnelle did something which neither she expected nor Ace. She raised herself on her toes to match his height and balanced herself by putting her hands on his musculine shoulders and........ kissed his right cheek delicately. On their own without wasting even a second Ace's eyes closed in pleasure feeling her fragile body near his ripped one and soft rose petals on his cheek. In response, he wrapped his hands around her slim waist tightly.
Shnelle felt his hands on her body and she stilled. Slowly, she moved back but he didn't remove his hands. Ace gazed down intensely at her pink cheeks. Their moment was interrupted by Jenny's cheerful voice "Oh My God ,you guys are so adorable. "Hearing this Shnelle immediately moved away from him and Ace let her go.
Ace didn't want to leave her but he wasn't a fan of PDA. He believes that private moments shouldn't be displayed to the world. He wants to show his affectionate side only to her not to others.
Ace cleared his throat and said "Let's go." and left when she nodded. She after taking her bag left but not before saying goodbye to the old couple.
Shnelle was completing her assignment in her room when someone knocked at her door. After a tired sigh she opened the door and saw a tensed Ruby standing there.
"Mrs King please come in." She muttered politely. Ruby nodded and sat down on her bed patting space beside her for Shnelle.
"Are you okay?"she sat down and asked her in concern.
"No,I'm not okay. "Ruby stated sadly.
"What happened Mrs king?can I help you?" Shnelle asked worriedly.
"Dear only you can help me."Ruby looked at her hinting something.
"Me?" Shnelle was confused.
"Yes, you know Dear behind my identity as a Don's wife and a successful fashion designer there's a mother who cares for her children. I may not be the best mother but I'm the one who always want her child's happiness. She wants her children to smile genuinely, be happy in life and when problems come in their life then share it with her. I know you hate my son for whatever he did to you but Shnelle a mother could never hate her children no matter what mistakes they make. I'm not saying that, what he did was correct so you forgive him but I want you to know that I can't see him sad. I don't even know what happened between you two but from past few days he's not his usual self. Sure he never talked openly before but atleast he ate food properly, slept peacefully but now he behave like a robot. He only works, trains and remain out mostly. Shnelle , he's already far away from us but now the distance increased even more. I-I beg you please sort out your issues. I know I sound selfish but please make him happy. A Mother is begging you Shnelle..... please. "Ruby said last line while bowing infront of her in defeat.
You heard the saying that 'A person can conquer everything but is defeated only by his children. ' That's what exactly happened. Ruby King,a prominent personality in the World. She has everything : a lovely family, powerful husband, her own business, luxurious cars, rare expensive Gems you name it and she already has it. She looks elegant and is a strict bossy lady. She may be kind to her loved ones but not for the world. She's also given the term of "The Arrogant Queen", who is self conceited and rude which is true but that arrogant Ruby was now bowing infront of a tiny 16 year old girl because she knows the fact that this little creature has the most dangerous man wrapped around her little finger. It doesn't matter what she thought of him what's important is that he only think for her.
"Come on Shnelle you can do it. Just a five letter word S-O-R-R-Y and all done." "God please help me. " she whispered to herself and walked towards the figure standing near the balcony, who was on phone.
She stood few inches away from him and waited for the call to end.
"Just do it and I want that file on my table tomorrow sharp at 9:00am." Ace ordered the person with whom he was talking and turned to go only for him to come face- to- face with his love. His love who for the first time kissed him in public and was ignoring him after that as if she'd committed a heinous sin. Ace scoffed internally at the last word. It was anything but a sin. It was more pure than the most holy deed of the universe.
Shnelle didn't have the power to hold eye contact with him so she looked down at her feet and nervously played with her small fingers.
Ace mentally cooed at her as she was looking so cute but his expression remain stoic. She looked at him after motivating herself and nervously said " A-ce l-l ju-st n-o, n-o l-l mean l-l-didnt m-ean to say tho-se rude words. I kn-now how su-ch words hu-rt a person. U-uh I'm ge-nuin-ely so-r-ry for saying those hut-rtful words to y-o-ou."
Shnelle sluttered in fear. 'You're so stupid Shnelle ' she scolded herself due embarrassment. She was so busy in insulting herself that she didn't notice when two fingers under her chin made her look up.
"Alright " Ace replied while intensely gazing into her eyes.
"Really?"she asked suprised at how easily he forgave her. Ace unknowingly glared at her on which she took few steps back. Ace also took steps towards her like a predator moving to attack his prey, a very beautiful prey. Shnelle was caged between him and the wall. Ace was too close for her liking which made her uncomfortable. Ace looked at her for a good minute and then leaned forward. In defense, she moved her face backwards and closed her eyes but it didn't stop him from kissing her chubby cheeks ever so softly. His lips felt hot on her cold pale skin.
