Marriage
Napakurap ako ng ilang beses dahil sa gulat sa kaniyang sinabi. My lips parted to say something but no words came out, just my heavy breathing.
I can't believe how he can affect me with those flirtatious words!
"N-No, thanks. It's not like I'm asking to be one of your flings," I cleared my throat and took a sip from my glass of water.
He chuckled. Matiim pa rin ang tingin niya sa akin ngunit naputol iyon nang may babaeng lumapit sa table namin. I looked at them just to be horrified when I saw the woman standing with her!
"Architect Theo?" The woman who suddenly popped up out of nowhere, asked.
Theo lazily turned his gaze to the woman and just nodded like he's not even interested in talking with her. Ibinalik niya rin kaagad ang tingin sa akin. For the first time, I suddenly felt grateful for Architect Valencia. By snobbing them, they will realize that he has no interest in talking with them leaving them with only one choice and that's to leave! Sana nga umalis na sila para umalis na rin si Vanessa dito!
Of all places, why will I see her here?! At ngayon pa talagang kasama ko si Architect Valencia!
"U-Uh... I didn't expect to meet you here. Kanina lang ay magkasama tayo sa meeting..." pagpapatuloy noong babae kahit mukhang wala namang interes ang kinakausap. "You are?"
I think that question was for me with the way her upturned eyes turned to look at me. Umawang ang labi ko para sumagot pero bago pa ako makapagsalita ay sumingit na si Vanessa.
"She's Architect's fiancee," she answered and smirked at me evilly. "Right, Kiara?"
Natuod ako sa kinauupuan at agad na napatingin kay Architect Valencia. He's in the middle of playing with the rim of the glass of water when he stopped just to looked at me. Kumuyom ang mga kamao ko sa ibabaw ng hita at agad na nakaramdam ng hiya.
"Oh?! Really?!" The woman exclaimed while looking at the guy in front of me like she couldn't believe it.
I looked down. Mariin akong pumikit at bumuntong-hininga. I clutched my trousers and swallowed hard. Ni hindi ako makatingin kay Architect Valencia dahil sa sobrang kahihiyang nararamdaman!
Kanina ay todo tanggi ako sa alok niya tapos ngayon, malalaman niyang self-proclaimed fiancee niya pala ako?! Who wouldn't find that embarrassing? Ni hindi pa ako makatanggi sa sinasabi ng kapatid dahil ano namang sasabihin ko?
Na kasinungalingan ko lang ang lahat? Na prank lang iyon? That will only make me look so stupid! My ego was on the line and I cannot risk that!
"What? Is your relationship still a secret? You already kissed each other in public, right?" Vanessa chuckled.
"Can you please shut the fuck up, Vanessa?" I whispered warningly and glanced at her.
Natawa siya at tinuro ang sarili. "Did I say something wrong? You're the one who proclaimed yourself as his fiancee."
Napalunok ako at pakiramdam ko ay lahat na ng dugo ko sa katawan ay umakyat na sa mukha ko. How could I escape this? If only I could just vanish like a thin air right now! O sana kahit lamunin na lang ako ng lupa!
"Is that true, Architect?" Iyong babae na hindi talaga makapaniwala dahil sa naririnig.
If only I can deny everything. If only I can without embarrassing myself!
"Look at me," Architect Valencia, said out of nowhere.
Napakurap-kurap ako at nanatiling tahimik. To whom is he talking to? I'm looking down so I don't know who he is looking at!
