"Hello?" She answered.

"Daisy! Please tell me the lantern festival still continued!" I panicked.

The phone went silent for a few seconds until Daisy replied.

"Your father heard what happened and had the Cabinet cancel the festival until further notice." She said with a sorrowful tone in her voice.

'Shit...' My heart dropped at the thought of my father knowing the events that happened only a few hours ago. I'm not surprised that he knows, but when Mario and I are really going to get an earful when we get home. That is if Mario was to come home any time soon.

"O-okay, Daisy...thank you." I replied and then abruptly hung up not wanting to continue the conversation.

I scanned the hospital room and began to feel boredom come over me as there hasn't been a nurse or doctor check on me in a couple of hours. I decided to request assistance to see when I would be discharged from the hospital. A few minutes passed until a toadette came into the room with a clipboard and other medical tools. She looked up at me and smiled brightly while holding onto her clipboard tight and blushed at the sight of me.

"H-hello, Prince Luigi!" She bowed then accidentally dropped her medical tools and quickly got on her knees to retrieve the items. "It's an honor to meet you, um," She cleared her throat and began to walk over to me at a steady pace. "My name is Isabella, I'll be your nurse for the next few days...how are you feeling at the moment?" She placed her clipboard and medical tools on the table beside me and listened intently at my response.

'Few days?!?! I thought I would only be her for a night!' I thought.

"It's a pleasure to meet you too, Isabella...I'm fine, but I couldn't help but wonder why I'll be staying here for a few days." I asked nervously not wanting to spend another day in this place.

"Oh! You have some internal bleeding and the doctors want to monitor you to make sure it doesn't get any worse." She beamed. "It's very minor , but we don't want it to get worse."

I thought for a moment and couldn't really think of a way to get out the hospital earlier than planned.

"Do you mind if I take your vitals, Sire? It'll only be a moment." She politely asked.

"Of course not, Isabella. And you can just call me Luigi, or Weegee. Whichever you prefer." I smiled and broke out of my train of thought and prepared myself to be prodded and scanned.

"O-oh, okay...L-Luigi..." She blushed at her words and then began to check my vitals which only took a few minutes. She packed up her things and began to head out of the room before bowing and telling me she'll see me in a few hours to check on me. I smiled and later back down in my bed.

A few minutes pasted and I felt a vibration in my bed and soon realized it was my phone; I grabbed my phone and looked to see a message from Lemmy.

"Hey, dude, how's it going?"

I sighed and quickly responded back.

"It's going okay, I have to stay here for a few more days :/"

"Dang that sucks."

I set my phone down thinking that was the end of the conversation until I felt another vibration.

"Wanna sneak out?"

I looked up from my phone for a moment thinking hard at the decision of leaving the hospital. Another minute in this room was going to drive me crazy so I hurried and texted him.

"Yes please."

""Okay, I'll be there in a minute, I'm helping cleaning up after Junior's party."

"Oh, today was his birthday?"

"Yeah, he's six!"

"Tell him Weegee said 'happy bday!'"

Although the two kingdoms weren't on good terms, I still had a relationship with all of the koopalings and Junior before the war started and would chat with them whenever I saw them. Which was rare.

"He said, and I quote: 'THANK YOU PEE PEE!!' Lol"

I rolled my eyes and chuckled a bit at the silly nick name.

"I'll be there in ten minutes."

I shut my phone off and placed it atop of the table beside me. The fluorescent lights from my room flickered a bit as the news anchor on the television was discussing the cancellation of the lantern festival.

"We have received news that the lantern festival was cancelled as a result of the two princes becoming very ill and unable to attend the gathering. Moreover, we are not entirely sure when the festival will commence, but we believe it will be sometime next week. We will report on it as soon as we know. This is Angela Bakes from MK News. Now Chet Stokes with the weather."

I couldn't help but be relieved that the kingdom wasn't aware of what happened and are under the impression that Mario and I are sick. After a few minutes of me mindlessly staring at the TV, I heard a knock at the window and turned to see Lemmy outside the window in a clown car. He waved excitedly and gestured me to open the window. My side was killing me and prevented me from quickly getting up. I winced at held my side and slowly, but surely got up from the bed and limped over to the window to unlock it and open it.

"Hey, dude! Come on!" Lemmy whispered bringing his clown car closer to the window to help me out the window. I climbed on top of the window sill and grabbed Lemmy's hands as I made my way out of the window and into his car. You know you'd think the clown cars wouldn't be big enough for more than one person, but they're a lot bigger than they look on the outside.

Lemmy did the best he could to help me feel comfortable while standing in the car and allowed me to lean on him while he was driving which I convenient since he's the perfect arm rest.

"How are we going to get past Bowser?" I asked raising my voice a little to combat the noisy ride.

"He's sleep, don't worry about it; and even if he wasn't, I'm not sure he cares all that much." He said keeping his eyes on the path we were going. I raised an eyebrow and was quite confused at the statement, I thought Bowser of all people would disapprove of my presence. Especially considering the treaty between our kingdoms.

"What about the treaty?" Lemmy chuckled at my statement which confused me even more.

"You do know that treaty means nothing to him, right? He's always at the Mushroom Kingdom stalking Peach. He's just good at hiding himself apparently." He shrugged while glancing back at me with a smirk. "That's why I've started to come see you; if he can do it, so can I."

So Peach's reports of seeing him were real...

We remained silent the entire trip until we made it at the gates of the Koopa Kingdom. At the gates stood two koopa troopas who were armed with tridents and became defensive once they laid eyes on me. Lemmy parked a fair distance from the gates and told me to stay in the car while he talks to them. He quickly sprinted over and the guards began to lower their defenses. Lemmy was very animated in his gestures trying to convince the guards to let me through the gates. Every few seconds, the two koopa troopas looked over at me with a raised brow hesitant to let me inside the castle walls. All I could do was watch Lemmy from afar until he gestured me to come over. After awhile the guards spoke into a walkie-talkie and had the gates be lifted. Lemmy looked over at me and gestured me to come over.

I hopped out of the clown car and made my way over to the gates. As soon as I crossed over the bridge, the temperature rose up at least 10° and caused me to start sweating profusely.

"Okay, we're good. Let's go."
