this book is going to inform you about what is currently going on with palestine/israel. i refuse to call it the 'palestinian-israeli conflict' because a conflict implies a balance of power, and israel clearly has the upper hand in this circumstance...
i would like to remind you all that this information is not mine. i am summarizing the info from a video that was shared on instagram. the man who made the video asked the viewers not to share the video across other platforms because he was getting threats and feared for the safety of his family. the only thing he did in the video was provide a short summary of the situation, and yet he was afraid for his safety. this in itself shows the severity of the situation.

above show palestine and israel's territories. palestine is in red and israel is in blue. we will not be focusing on the israeli territory right now, so you can disregard that. the smaller territory in the corner is gaza, and the big one is the west bank. as you can see by the starred point, jerusalem, the capital of the country, is partly in the west bank.

east jerusalem belongs to palestine, and west jerusalem belongs to israel. this is literally the law. however, israel took control of east jerusalem despite it being illegal.
the old city is central jerusalem. it is surrounded by huge walls with only a few entrances and exits. think of it as a medieval fortress or something.
