sheikh jarrah is a neighborhood in east jerusalem. you may recall that this means it belongs strictly to palestine, not israel.
however, this isn't stopping israel. many palestinian families in sheikh jarrah are being evicted to make room for israeli settlers. as you can probably tell, this is illegal since the neighborhood is out of israel's bounds.
palestinians all over sheikh jarrah and jerusalem are protesting this cruelty. it is mostly nonviolent. the most it has escalated has been palestinians throwing rocks and firecrackers at the israeli police force. they are truly desperate, using the most rudimentary objects as weapons while israel has real weapons. there is a huge power imbalance.
