"Are you serious?"

I feel like someone just poured a bucket of ice on me. I can't even move. Ang alam ko na lang ay nabitawan ko 'yung kutsara at pizza na hawak ko, nailaglag ko 'yon sa plate. I don't know what to feel. I mean, meeting his parents? They were very clear from the start that they don't like me. Ini-imagine ko pa lang ay parang nalalagutan na ako ng hininga.

"Yes," Steve replied.

"But... I don't think... oh, my gosh, Steve!" I stuttered as I put my hands on my forehead. Pinatong ko 'yung siko ko sa lamesa habang minamasahe ko 'yung sentido ko.

"Don't you want to meet my Mom?"

Humarap ako sa kaniya. "It's not that I don't like, it's just I don't think I'm ready. I mean, we both know she wants Bella for you."

He held my hand. "But, I don't like her, wala naman siyang magagawa."

"Let me think about it, Steve." I said in finality. I don't want to further discuss it, natatakot ako na baka hindi ako magustuhan ng Mama niya.

"Okay." he said, giving up. Binatawan na rin niya 'yung kamay ko at kumain na lang ulit.

After we ate, we already went home. Steve was quiet the whole time. I don't think he's offended... I don't know pala, well, I'm just being careful. I just want to be ready kapag haharap na ako sa Mama niya.

"Bye, love." I said awkwardly while unbuckling my seatbelt, nandito na kami sa tapat ng house namin. Sobrang tahimik niya talaga at hindi siya nagsasalita buong byahe. Kapag may itatanong ako ay sasagutin lang niya.

"Okay," he smiled a bit, not looking at me.

"I love you," I said before kissing his cheek. Tumingin siya sa akin at ngumiti, nginitian ko lang din siya bago bumaba ng sasakyan.

"Love," he suddenly called me pagkababa ko. Yumuko ako at tumingin sa kaniya.

"Yes?" I asked, smiling.

"I love you." he smiled. Napangiti rin ako. I gave him a flying kiss before closing the door of his car.

"Eh, bakit?" Lian exaggeratedly asked while we're sitting here at the bench near at engineering department.

"Sungit kaya 'yon." I pouted.

"Kahit na! Gumawa ka naman ng way para magustuhan ka."

"How?" nakasimangot na tanong ko.

"Hay nako! E 'di, ligawan mo." she rolled her eyes.

"What? Do I really have to that?!" I asked in disbelief.

"Of course! Kapag kayo nagkatuluyan niyang si Steve kailangan mong pakisamahan lahat ng mahal niya." she said while sipping her drink.

"Fine!" I rolled my eyes and got my phone. I don't want Steve to sulk. I need to do this for him, I should make an effort.

Love, when are we going to meet your mom?

It took a few minutes before he replied.

Yes, I will try my best for you.

From: Love
Saturday, love. Let's have lunch with them.

To: Love
Okay, love. Mwa

Thank you. I love you.

I smiled at his text. God! Things I do for him.

"Malanding 'to!" Lian leaned forward on the table and tapped my head a little.
