Unrequited Love For You

Maybe it's for the best...if I lay down, for a while...

*Flashback 12 years ago*

"Happy birthday to dear Jack...happy birthday to you!" Mom, dad, and everyone else sang to me and clapped loudly.

"Blow the candles, honey!" My mom kissed my cheek. I blow the 5 candles on my chocolate cake.

Everyone cheered again! It was the happiest day of my whole life! Uncle Edwin took a picture of me, dad, mom, and my little brother or sister inside mom's tummy. 

I put my hand on her tummy, it's funny when little brother or sister moves. I hope it's a little brother! So I could play with him when he comes. But a sister is okay too!

Then I played games with my cousins. Kenneth keeps pushing me hard at tag, but I'm a big boy so I don't care. It's fun playing rough hehehe!

My cousins are really rough at every game, I almost lost my teeth and injured my neck at Hide and Seek, but it was fun!

My aunties made me sit on their laps. Their faces are so puffy and colorful! Why are their lips so red and there is color on their eyes? Mom has them too, but not like this...

They were asking many questions about dad's money and mom's aff..affai...aphare? I don't know what it means, but I answered them honestly because I'm an honest boy! When I was done, they left and ran outside with smiles. I'm happy to help them!

Uncle Todd told me he has something to show me and I have to follow him. And I did. We were walking away from my house...until I can't see home anymore. I don't know where I am now.

We stop and he says to close my eyes and count to 100. And I did...

0...1...2...

...98...99...100!

I open my eyes...uncle was not here. I don't know where he is! And I don't know the houses here! I can't see home! I try to come back where we walked before but I still can't see home! It's almost night and I'm cold!

I cried and cried loudly, hugging myself. There is no home anymore, I don't know where I am, I am lost forever...I will never see my mom, dad, little brother or sister anymore. 

Until there is a man in blue and a blue hat. He picks me up and asks for my name. I give him my name and he asks me questions. He then took me somewhere warm and gave me chocolate. He told me to wait for him. And I did.

Then mom and dad came! I was so happy! I cried and hugged them tightly! I look up at them. They were crying. Dad picked me and hugged me tightly. He and the blue man talked a little and we went home...

Home...

Home is the house, right?

Then...why does it feel not home when we came home?

It feels...weird. But maybe because I was out for too long. Mom and dad had been quiet since they found me...did I do something?

They kissed me goodnight and tuck me in. This is where everything should be happy, especially in my birthday...but it doesn't feel happy.

Their kisses and hugs doesn't feel nice...it feels weird.

But maybe because it's just today. Maybe tomorrow will be good-er.

Maybe.
