Tony sighed while summoning up the strength to enter peppers office, well it was actually a bedroom she turned into an office for when shes doing paperwork late at night so she doesn't have to stay at stark tower the whole time

Eventually Tony did enter the office though and smiled kindly at her

"Hey pep" He said

She looked up and smiled back

"Hey Tony, what's up? You know I'm busy so it better be important" Pepper said

"It's actually very important" Tony said his tone serious

Pepper looked up then closed her laptop

"I'm listening" She said

"I've been meaning to talk to you about this for a while, and know you're amazing and I do love you, however, recently I feel like we've been drifting apart and we have been for a while, and I feel like the love, at least on my side may be less romantic and more platonic now, because.. Because I think I'm falling for someone else, but please know I don't want to hurt you, I never want to hurt you, you'll always be one of the best and most amazing people and ill always love you, I just don't know if im.. In love, with you anymore" Tony admitted,

he felt almost as if he was going to cry, and he couldn't look pepper in the eyes, he was too scared and worried

He knew he was doing the right thing, so why did it hurt so badly?

"Tony, I understand completely, I also don't know if I'll in love with you any more, I just didn't know when to bring it up, out of curiosity though, who do you think you've fallen for?" Pepper asked curiously

Her casualness calmed Tony and he smiled softly

"Uhm.. Bucky barnes actually- but shhh don't tell anyone, especially the demons" Tony said

'The demons' being their army of nosy kids

"James Buchanan Barnes? Really?" Pepper asked in disbelief

Tony blushed slightly "y-yeah-"

"Well, that's surprising, but I support you no matter what and I for one think you and him would be adorable together" Pepper smiled

Tony smiled too

"Good-" Tony started but then three and a half people came into the room

"Mr stark! Ms Potts!!" Peter said

"Dad! Mom!" Ryley said

"Tony, pepper" Dakota said

"Person who isn't my dad but also is!! And mother who isn't my mother but also is!" Harley yelled from over the phone

"Oh good god-" Tony muttered

"Yes?" Pepper asked

"What's with the family meeting?" Tony asked

"We have to talk to you about something" Ryley said

"You and Ms Potts have been drifting apart" Peter said

"And it's confusing" Dakota said

"And I just heard about it today but I agree! It's confusing!" Harley said loudly

"I just got done talking about this-" Tony said

"Me and Tony have been, well yes drifting apart, and we've started to come to the realization that although we love each other, we aren't in love anymore" Pepper explained

Ryley nearly teared up slightly

"Ry, hun, why are you tearing up?" Tony asked, instantly noticing his daughteds teary eyes

"I just- this isn't my fault right? Pepper.. I know I'm not your kid and I'm Tonys from when he.. Slept around but I hope I didn't cause problems for you two together, if I'm causing any trouble I can go back to mother till I can afford my own place" Ryley said

"Ryley, babe no I promise you that's not why me and your dad started drifting apart, I love you, you are my kid as far as I'm concerned" Pepper said and hugged her daughter

Ryley hugged back then started feeling guilty for making this about her when it wasn't

"I'm sorry for making this about me- " She said crying into peppers shoulder

"No no, don't be sorry, your feelings are valid ryley" Tony said softly and hugged ryley and pepper

And soon enough Peter and Dakota joined the hug too, and Harley would hug them but sadly he was behind a screen

"We love you guys no matter what, and were still beat friends, just not together anymore" Tony said

"Yeah, plus sounds like you may have a new father figure soon, Tonys got his eye on someone" Pepper smirked slightly

"Pep!" Tony said

Everyone laughed slightly and ryley realized she knew exactly who it was

"Hey, why don't we all go out for dinner then go watch a movie in the theater here? To make up for all the drama?" Pep suggested

"That sounds great!" Peter said

"Oh! I got to go, sorry guys, but I'll talk to you later! By dad, by mom!" Harley said before disconnecting the call

And at that the family went out to a restaurant and talked and joked before watching a random movie the happily going to bed knowing the awkward tension and not knowing would be over now
