"I sneaked into Taeil hyung's room and got his Id to enter into the medical wing of the ministry" Mark whispered showing the Id card which he had in his hands
"Great, should we get going then?" Naomi asked as she handed Mark a mask.
"We can't get caught" Naomi said as she pulled up her mask to cover her face
"Let's get going" Mark muttered as they entered the building
"This way" Naomi said looking around to see if anyone's there as they proceeded to enter the room filled with files
"We need the Id, place it on the lock" Naomi said as Mark unlocked the door by keeping Taeil's Id
"Fast, we can't get caught. We need to search for Hwang Sungwook among the files. And I'll take a picture of the medical record of Renjun's mum" Naomi muttered as she walked towards the shelf taking a file on her hand
Naomi clicked pictures of the medical record of Renjun's mum.
"Ah I got the file of Hwang Sungwook! It was under crime investigation section though!" Mark said Dusting the file
"What?" Naomi had no time to think why he was under the crime investigation section of files as she could hear footsteps
With widened eyes, Naomi snatched the file from Mark's hands clicking pictures in a hurry, " someone's coming! We got to leave!"
"Hurry! We're going to get caught if we don't leave now!"Mark whisper-shouted as he looked at Naomi who kept the file back in place as they jumped out the window
Jumping down from buildings and windows was something normal for them. They did it everytime they had gone to missions.
"That was close, the pictures of the files are clear" Naomi sighed in relief swiping through the pictures
Mark plopped on the bed beside her as he peeped to look at the pictures.
"Let's go through the file of Sungwook" Naomi said as she adjusted her phone so both of them could see
"He was indicted for a set up accident?" Naomi read the information
"It says that he was proven not guilty, and that it was two other people who did it. But they couldn't find who the two were, so they closed the case because Sungwook was broken at the news of his wife and son getting into an accident and didn't want to cause more trouble. He stated that being able to save his wife and son was the most important thing for him" Mark continued to read the information
"So who are the two who set up the accident?" Naomi asked
"They couldn't find them" Mark said as Naomi swiped through Renjun's mom's files.
"I took pictures of her scans and reports" Naomi said showing them to Mark
"The report shows broken bones, but as we discussed that day, there's no way broken bones will get rid of her powers" Mark stated
"Tomorrow's the festival right? Will Renjun's parents come?" Naomi asked
"Last time, it was just his father. His mum didn't attend due to health issues" Mark informed
"I think we should ask Taeyong about this" Naomi said
"We can't tell him we sneaked into the medical wing of the ministry! He'll yell at us!" Mark's eyes widened
"I went with Moon, remember? I'll tell him I saw it back then" Naomi said
Mark thought about it and nodded slowly, " be careful"
Naomi got up, " I'll get going to his room then"
Naomi knocked Taeyong's room entering in to see him sitting on his desk doing some paperwork
"I wanted to cross-check something with you" Naomi smiled as she took a bite of cookie Taeyong offered her
"Take a seat" Taeyong smiled
"That day, I had gone to the medical wing of the ministry with Moon. There, I had seen this file while waiting for moon" Naomi said showing the pictures of the report of Huang Jiang, Renjun's mum.
"Ahh I've gone through this case. I was asked to investigate about this case" Taeyong said
"But why isn't Renjun's father not a Huang? Renjun got his surname from his mom" Naomi had so many questions running inside her head
"Renjun's father has another wife" Taeyong said
"What?" Naomi's eyes widened
" Hwang Sungwook was already with another woman when he married Renjun's mom. The Huangs were so much influencial back then. So he coaxed Renjun's grandfather and married Huang Jiang for the power, he wants to rule over the whole place" Taeyong stated
Naomi was speechless, " what about the accident? How did Aunt Jiang lose her powers? The report says that she lost her powers due to broken bones, but it's impossible."
"I couldn't find the proof in the reports , but remember what your parents did to you? That's the only way to get rid of powers, I'm sure Sungwook did that. " Taeyong said
"But there wasn't any information on the report about body injury!" Naomi tried to match all the clues together
"The accident was set up, Sungwook got away with it because he set up people to kill Renjun and his mum" Taeyong recalled the time he was as curious as Naomi
"But why would he do that? Doesn't he need Renjun to claim power? " Naomi questioned
"Yes, that's why he acted like he wanted to forgive the people who set up the accident Because he realised about how powerful Renjun can be , and he can made use of Him. The stone which you're wearing? He was vigorously after it, he still tortures Renjun till now for his own greed" Taeyong pointed out the necklace Naomi was wearing
Naomi was out of words, " is this necklace that powerful? Why did Renjun give it to me then?"
"Because he loves you"
