(Meanwhile...)

Nightmare would be assisting Shockwave in the weapon's construction, and would try to find any way he could get some classified information from the military. He needed that information to make that weapon stronger. Cybertronian tech was incredible, but he knew that humans were still crafty enough to try and beat them. He had to make sure everything went well.

He worked tirelessly to make sure the weapon would not be destroyed. Knowing the Autobots, from what Soundwave had expressed, they will make sure to stop this weapon from functioning. Even with his skill, he believed that there was something  else to make to make this weapon stronger.

"It's construction is going well," he said to himself. "But I need to get something that the Decepticons don't have," he sighed. "Scrap..."

He rubbed his temple as he heard the sound of pedsteps entering the room. He turned his head to see who stood behind him.

"Soundwave..." He said. "Did Lazerbeak enjoy his flight, or do you have something for me?"

"Lazerbeak- discovered some- thing you- need to see," Soundwave said via numerous voice clips.

"For me, hm? Well show me what you've found."

Soundwave would have Lazerbeak leave his chassis and fly to the main console. He would pick up Nightmare and put him on his shoulder so he could have a better look at the footage. He would see a school building, but then the footage zoomed in to two people and a parked car. There was the girl he had fought prior, but there was an older man as well. This made him growl.

"So he decides to show up," he said before chuckling. "Interesting. He normally never leaves France from what I've heard..."

"What- should we- do with him?" Soundwave asked with numerous voices.

"Track him. Find out why he's in Jasper. See if he has anything valuable that Lord Megatron can use, whether it be information or something else."

Soundwave nodded before putting Nightmare down and leaving the room, Lazerbeak following behind him. Nightmare looked up at the screen again to see this man.

"So what brings you to a small town like this, you piece of slag?"

He stared at the image before shutting the footage off. He was not in the mood to deal with that nonsense. He jumped off the console, landing on his feet before taking a walk. Finding out that he was here made things complicated. However, he hoped to find out some use for him, just like he did for that girl. This plan would come together, no matter how many pawns come to play.

Even so, he still had a major issue to work on with the weapon. He needed more firepower for this weapon to cause widespread damage, and despite the Decepticons' resources, it was not enough. He made it to his personal quarters before sitting in front of his console and worked to find information across multiple sources. He then remembered something important.

He pulled out a file he had, containing information regarding Project Damocles. He chuckled, a smirk playing under his mask. Due to his contribution, he discovered that his old friend had some information that would be useful for the project he was working on.

"Of course... Silas would have the resources I need..." He sighed. "What's being documented is not enough..."

He had no choice but to play Devil's Advocate and contact the bastard. The negotiating was hellish, and he had to keep the prospect of sending Breakdown to them off the table. Even so, he managed to get everything in order and had the information he needed.

"Finally... I can make this weapon have more destructive power..."

He got up from his seat, taking his datapad of documented information with him. He was about to make his way to Shockwave before he stopped, seeing Starscream. He glared through his mask.

"What do you want Commander Starscream?" Nightmare asked. "Haven't you bothered me enough outside my project today?"

"Why Nightmare, you wound me!" Starscream said with a smirk. "I was checking to make sure that you have been up to Lord Megatron's expectations."

"Oh, I have been, unlike a certain commander. I can't count how many times you've made mistakes. However, I can only imagine you've made more than that."

"Watch your tone, Nightmare," Starscream glared. "You may have garnered favor from the others for your skills, but for a human, you will still fail."

"You'll eat those words when you aren't commander anymore Starscream."

Starscream scoffed, his glare still present as he walked away. Nightmare sighed, annoyed.

"Just like that fool, Silas," he thought. "His ambition makes him foolhardy and ready to do anything to keep his post."

He went to report what knowledge he had to Shockwave before continuing work on the weapon. Despite the work, he was bothered by one thing: the man that was talking with her. Why would he visit this small town? Was it for her, or for something more? He had to find out soon, so that he could prevent whatever snags that would interfere with his plans.

The trials and tribulations of everything he was doing would all be worth it in the end. That, he wanted to ensure. The Decepticons were going to help him make the world better, even if it means that Megatron takes over. Watching the world burn, all while transforming it, will all be for the best.
