Alex's stomach dropped at that name. Piper looked at her when Butch turned back, making the connection. 

"Did he say Jackson?" Piper asked. Jason it seemed didn't remember her last name but stared at her too for an explanation, only Leo knew about her past and Alex thought she trusted the other two well enough so she explained. 

It's a small world after all huh?

"There's no way that's a coincidence is it?" Piper stared at her. 

"Let me just say— today sucks" Alex looked at her feet. How could she explain this? But then again how could she explain anything that happened that day. "Percy Jackson. Uh— well. He's my brother"

Piper simply arched a brow. Alex loved her for this. She was never very dramatic, she'd wait for Alex to explain, 

"I mean Percy Jackson... that's not a very common name is it?" Alex chuckled slightly, Leo reached out and put a hand on her shoulder. She understood what he meant by that- You don't have to say it if you don't want to, but I'm here for you regardless. "I haven't met him in nearly..." Alex let out a long breath, "..seven years now. It's.. complicated. And maybe it's for the best that we don't tell the scary blonde who looks like she wants to murder us?"

"We won't say anything" Jason quickly spoke up, causing her to smile faintly. This wasn't the Jason she remembered... not by a long shot, but he was okay. 

"But the Annabeth girl clearly knows your brother- that's got to mean something" Leo looked at her, his curls bouncing as looked between Annabeth and Alex. "Lex, your brother's missing for fucks sake... Maybe they need you to help them find him. And maybe-"

"Leo, shut up" Alex rolled her eyes, everytime her family was brought up Leo started up with the nonsense. As if she was going to leave him and go to her shitty family. Even after seven years Leo still doubted her. She was determined to prove him wrong. 

"And besides, you're way closer to me than Percy, my mom and Gabe ever were. If anything, you're my family- all of you.. yes even you superman with amnesia. And I promise I'll tell everyone when we find Percy" Alex said.

"Are you guys getting on?" Butch asked. 

"Yeah, give us a second" Piper said, she gave Alex a hug and whispered, "Whenever you're ready"

"Thanks for not forcing me to tell Annabeth who I really am" 

"Remember our magician phase?" Leo raised his eyebrows, causing Alex to cringe slightly. Yes, she definitely remembered that, "It's just like that. Don't let anyone find your real name, Alex Wilde"

"We were so dumb back then, using our real first names" Alex snorted watching Piper and Jason walk ahead of them. "But okay, Leo Jackson." She paused, "I still think it's weird you took my last name out of all the last names in the world"

"It's a very cool last name in my defense" 

"As if Valdez isn't" 

—"This is so cool!" Leo spat a pegasus feather out of his mouth. "Where are we going?"

Alex laughed, but Annabeth seemed on edge, Alex wondered why her brother would go out with someone so uptight. 

"A safe place," Annabeth said. "The only safe place for kids like us. Camp Half-Blood."

"Half blood?" Piper stood straighter, Alex knew she hated the word because of how many times she had heard it being used as an insult. "Is that some kind of bad joke?"
