The two battled the giant in sync. Jason hovered sometimes, but only enough to harm Enceladus in higher places than his knee, while Alex created cracks and made jagged rocks rise, tripping the giant more than once.

Alex rolled away from Enceladus' spear and drove her dagger into his ankle, drawing golden blood. For the first time, her ADHD didn't seem to hold her back, in fact it almost seemed to help her. She was quick on her feet, and quite small so Enceladus had a harder time in hurting her.

Although he did get her when he flung her into a tree. Alex had the wind get knocked out of her and hit her head pretty hard, but before she could recover- Enceladus breathed fire at her.

She curled into a ball knowing she did not want to die because of fire. She waited for the flames but only heard a sizzling sound like water on a hot pan. When she turned around, she was met by a fifteen feet wall of churning water that had apparently saved her. But Alex knew there was no water around her, she wondered where it had come from.

"Water won't save you from me Alexandra Jackson" Eceladus roared in frustration and focused instead on Jason. The wall of water collapsed and seemed to sink into her dagger, Alex remembered Annabeth's story of how Percy had managed to call forth water from seashells on one of their adventures and figured that's what it was.

"I'm not some minor monster," Enceladus bellowed. "I am a giant, born to destroy gods! Your little gold toothpick can't kill me, boy."

Alex struggled to her feet and watched in horror as Enceladus drove his spear into Jason's shoulder. Thankfully Jason managed to moved so it only grazed his shoulder.

"The mighty Jason Grace," Enceladus taunted. "Yes, we know about you, son of Jupiter. The one who led the assault on Mount Othrys. The one who single-handedly slew the Titan Krios and toppled the black throne."

Alex knew Jason didn't remember, she watched as his expression went from confusion to some sort of realisation. She knew Jason was distracted and Enceladus would take advantage of it.

Alex wasted no time. With Enceladus' back to her, she charged. Enceladus seemed to sense her and turned around but she faked a strike and rolled between the giants' legs. She came up quickly thrusting with all his might, ready to stab the giant in his gut  but Enceladus anticipated the trick. He stepped aside with too much speed and agility for a giant, as if the earth were helping him move.

Jason joined her and together they blocked a blow from Enceladus' spear that he swept sideways. The giant roared and swung his weapon back, and then at the two again. This time there was a sound like a shot gun blast and Alex's dagger and Jason's javelin shattered.

The explosion was hotter than the giant's breath, blinding Alex with golden light. The force knocked her off her feet and squeezed the breath out of her. Not a second later they were overwhelmed with a wave almost as tall as the giant.
