       "ATSUSHI... HAS BEEN taken?" Kunikida asked with his eyes slightly wide from shock. "HE'S BEEN WHAT?" [Name] yelled as she turned her whole body towards to Tanizaki. "Y-Yes..." Tanizaki responded, stuttering. "Tch... now, of all times? The ministry bodyguard job we took on had already turned this agency upside down. We have no one free to search him. Do you know where he is?" Kunikida asked Tanizaki.

"According to witnesses... he was attacked in broad daylight and thrown into a nearby truck.... I don't know where it went after that..." Tanizaki answered, reading off a small notepad. "..That's no good. Their smuggling routes are countless. They could take him anywhere without being spotted." Kunikida said.

"Well. We've got to help him out, or else..." Tanizaki said as [Name] agreed, but was interrupted by Ranpo. "Help him? Why?" Ranpo asked as he slurped on his ice cream. Kunikida, Tanizaki, and [Name] looked at Ranpo in shock.

"He was kidnapped for personal reasons, no? His little tiger trick and the bounty on his head. We aren't his personal security detail, are we? And we didn't bring him in to protect him." Ranpo explained as [Name]'s hands formed into fists. "But Atsushi's one of us!" Tanizaki and [Name] yelled.

"... Ranpo is right. Now is not the time for us to act." Kunikida said while [Name] and Tanizaki were taken back. Naomi who stood behind them, frowned before walking away. "Why not call the police about it?" Ranpo asked. "Atsushi is wanted as a dangerous beast. If he's found out, we'll be dragged into it as well." Kunikida answered on why they can't.

"But..! Surely we could explain things to them.." Tanizaki said before an 'AHEM' was heard. "I'm fine with giving your 'explanations' and 'reasons'.. and debating them this to no end, but why don't we leave things to this man?" Naomi asked as Fukuzawa walked in with his usual stern face.

"PRESIDENT?!" Tanizaki yelled in surprise making Kunikda and Ranpo shocked, sweating a little. Kunikida bowed to him, "I apologize, sir. Once our work is over, we will gather intel with Tanizaki and [Name]..." "No need," Fukuawa spoke as he walked passed them, "EVERYONE, LISTEN WELL! YOU ARE ALL TO TRACK DOWN OUR NEW HIRE! UNTIL HE IS BROUGHT BACK SAFELY... ALL CURRENT WORK IS HEREBY FROZEN!"

"FROZEN?!" The employees yelled in shock. "But what about the ministry...?" Kunikida asked slowly. "I will contact them myself." Fukuawa answered, "don't worry. They owe me enough favors to make a bureaucrat or two wait for us."

"Boss...! Are you sure about that?" Ranpo questioned. "...what is it, Ranpo?" Fukuzawa asked Ranpo. "What? I mean... in terms of pure logic..." Ranpo was about to continue speaking before Fukuzawa cut him off. "Our comrade is in danger. We need to rescue him! Is there some weightier logic in the world which trumps that?" Fukuzawa asked, looking at Ranpo with a very stern look. Ranpo shudders in fear.

"Kunikida!" Fukuzawa yelled. "Yes?" Kunikda answered, pushing his glasses up, respectfully. "Get him back in three hours." Fukuzawa ordered.

"YES, SIR!"
