The Apology Speech

Recap: You went college for farewell. 

Joey: This is jus.. Who's the decorator? [Surprised] 

Samira: Sahil is the event organizer. [Chuckles] 

Joey: No way.. He got a really amazing taste in event decorations lol. This is mesmerizing. 

[The Decorations] 

Samira: Yup.. I was too amazed when he showed me all this yesterday. 

Joey: Ahem Ahem.. Other students were not allowed to see decoration but he showed you all this yesterday.. Is it what I guess? [Smirks] 

Samira: No.. Joe.. Stop teasing me.. It's nothing like that. We're just friends. [Laughs Awkwardly] 

Joey: "You say we're just friends But friends don't know the way you taste, la la la" [Laughs] 

You started singing song to tease Samira. 

Samira: Okay enough.. We're more than just friends. [Embarrassed] 

Joey: Caught ya.. I knew it! [Chuckles] 

Samira: Okay but don't you ever scream this out loud in front of everybody. [Threatens] 

Joey: Chill Bro.. I won't. You can trust me. [Chuckles] 

Everybody started gathering. You went to have some soft drinks. On your way towards the table, someone came and bumped into you. 

Joey: Ouch! [Rubs forehead] 

You looked up and to your surprise, It was Ajey. He was mesmerized after seeing you. His eyes weren't agreeing to stop staring at your face. You awkwardly tucked your hair behind your ear. You broke the eye contact and went from there. 

[Ajey's POV: Is that really Joey? I couldn't take my eyes off her. She looks so different tonight.] 

[Your POV: So today, it's our last meet. I never thought the first interaction would be this awkward. God.. I feel so embarrassed. I won't lie that I'm not gonna miss him but somehow I'm still stuck in my dilemma. One half me still wants him. I want to go and talk to him. I want to figure things out. I want to tell him, how much I love him but the other side, one half me wants to forget him.] 

After half an hour the function began. Sahil was hosting the show as well. There was singing, dancing, dramas, speeches, poetry and much more. Now it was your turn for the speech. 

Sahil: So now I would like to invite my sweet, lovely friend, Joe, for the next speech. Let's have a huge round of applause for her. 

You went up on stage. Grabbed the mic from Sahil and took a deep breath before started. 

Joey: Good Afternoon everybody! [Smiles] 

The crowd cheered. 

Joey: I feel really grateful to be here today. Yeah.. I'm nervous. Happens. Right? I would like to begin this with a really interesting yet common topic, called "One Sided Love." [Smiles] 

The crowd went crazy at this moment. They all started cheering insanely. Ajey slightly smiled while looking at you.

Joey: We all are familiar with love, right? We all are familiar with One Sided Love too. I know we've all been through it.. At least once in our life? Isn't it? [Chuckles] 

*Yes*

Joey: So did I. [Laughs] 

*Awwww*

Joey: I fell in love with my best friend. How cheap. [Laughs]  

*Cheers*

Ajey got a little curious when you said this. 

Joey: But you know, when you're in love. I mean, in love with someone really madly. You don't think of anything else. You just want to have them by your side. You want to call them yours. So was with me. I was so crazy that I couldn't see anything else. It was like.. He's my world. [Smiles]

*Awwww* 

Joey: But you know the worst part where my little heart broke. He loved someone else. My love is gone. He's taken. [Laughs] 

All this time you were laughing and enjoying but deep down you were hurt and trying to hide the pain, you were going through. 

Joey: So I did the same thing like everyone else does.. Ask me what. 

*What* 

Joey: I blocked him. [Laughs] 

The Crowd went crazy again.

Joey: Listen.. Listen.. I blocked his number from my phone. I block his Instagram account. But I couldn't block him from my heart, from my soul, from my mind.

*Wooooo* 

Joey: He wasn't mine but the pain was mine forever. But one day.. we fought. We fought really badly. I was crazy for him. He never knew it. He still doesn't know this yet. When we fought, he slapped me. I stopped talking to him. He tried to apologize but I never turned things around and tried to sort this out. I did stupidity. I lost what we used to have. It wasn't his fault that he didn't love me back. It was my fault that I expected him to love me back and when he didn't, then I lost control over myself. As today is the last day. This thing is tearing me apart. It's killing me every second. I don't wanna go back home with this burden on my heart. He is sitting here today. I won't say his name. I know he'll get it. I'm really sorry for what I did, for ruining our friendship, for making you feel guilty and for hating you, sometimes. Yes I did hate you sometimes but my love was way crazier then my hate. Now you got one more reason to flex, "Joey was crazy for me." [Laughs]

Ajey was confused as well as guilty. He didn't know any of this yet. He was just speechless and numb. 

Joey: So guys.. With this I would like to end my "so called" apology speech here. I feel so overwhelmed to be here today. I wanna thank all the professors. I wanna thank you all for being here. I wanna thank my sweet sweet friend, Sahil, for giving me this opportunity to keep my words in front of you all. Lastly, I'm gonna miss you all so bad. Thank you so much! [Smiles] 

Sahil: Wow.. This was amazing. Can we have a big hands of applause for Joey. [Shouts] 

The crowd applauded and cheered for you. You came off the stage and took your seat beside Samira. Ajey was still sitting speechless and numb.
