Carousal of Time

90 10 6

Every time I have the slightest desire,
The slightest urge to hop onto the carousel of Time,
An experience --
Moments of bliss and love
From a memory stuck on loop --

I must remind myself --
Whatever I believe or believed
Isn't true, or wasn't true.

The truth is far more bitter and
Though it no longer bears a taunting taste,
It's stained my mouth with a bittersweet aftertaste.

The lights of a theme park may shine so brilliantly but the shadows it casts of her and I,
Are a fairytale of its own
Stuck in time.
