David: the Ghoul

You left me in the dark.
Darkness is vast and ever-growing.
The perfect fertilizer for Doubt.
And lord knows I had plenty of those seeds, to nurture and grow when things grew cold.

You left me in the dark to wander;
My hands found David of Michaelangelo --
And I thought I found a ghoul.

Do you understand now?
I never wished to be cruel.
I was terrified and alone;
and bleeding all over the stage.
So I danced. And danced. And danced.
It was the only way to stay alive and unfeeling.
