" Aye, you coming to the game tomorrow?" Jalen asked. He was my long time friend, and he was one realest one I had.

" Yeah man, I'm coming with Amira." I respond, looking at my watch.

" Speaking of it, I need to go and pick her up. So I'll catch you tomorrow, ight?"

" Cool."

With that, I left from the studio and headed over to Ivory's office. It was only 10 minutes away, which was too bad here in California. I've been calling Ivory over and over, wanting to speak to her about my family really. But I knew that I had to address that whole Instagram situation first. That's the whole reason she hasn't been tryna speak with me, or only ever calling me when it came to Amira. But even with that, it's been weird with her. When we text, she's been giving two or three word responses. And that's not like her, even with us not being on the best of terms.

Pulling up to her office, I stepped out and went around to the back. I always did that coming over here, as I knew that the workers around here always fan girled.

I thanked Tyler as he opened the door for me, and went into Ivory's office. She wasn't in there when I came in, but my baby girl was— and she went crazy as she saw me. I picked her up high into my arms and spun her around, just as excited as she was to see me.

" Aw, baby girl... you look so much like your mama right now." I say, kissing her cheek. It was true too— she did look like Ivory, especially with her Afro hair all out and about.

Just as I said that, Ivory walked in. She smiled small, seeing Amira and I. She waved at me, going over to her desk to put the coffee cup in her hand down. Just from the few seconds that she'd been in here, I could tell that something was up with Ivory.

She looked distraught, yet empty.

I put Amira down, as she begin to fuss. She wanted to play with the toys that were semi scattered on the couch and the floor. I looked up at Ivory, still studying her face. She finally looked up at me, and again— she just smiled. Something was definitely up, and I wanted to know what. Was it me? Was it work? What?

" Ivory. How's everything with you? You good?"

" Y-Yeah...I'm fine. You?"

" I'm doing good as long as you two are." I say. A quick wave of sadness went across her face and I peeped it, even as she tried to cover it all up.

" Okay, well we are."

" Where's her bag at? You know?"
