•23• In His Embrace

'Love takes off masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within.'

There she was lying in his warm embrace and his eyes were shining in pure love for her.Nothing less , nothing more.As he kept staring at her pretty face from so close remembering what happened a while ago, a flame of vengeance and love was lit in his heart.

Flashback(a little while ago)

"I would never hurt you."

"Open your eyes Y/n."

His words felt like creating a warm, fuzzy feeling in her heart.She opened her eyes to see a face in front of her.It didn't bring fear in her heart,it didn't cause her to flinch back or want to hide herself somehwere.The way he was looking at her,it ignited a flame of hope in her heart.Her heart felt like jumping out of her body when he brushed a few strands of her hair and touched her forehead with his palm.A strange feeling emerged in her stomach,not in a bad way but it felt something so good.That was the first time in her life she felt excited.Excited at his touch and presence.Her fear or trauma seemed to be getting defeated against his love.The amount of affection his actions held couldn't be competed against by those dark feelings.Her breathing was normal but her heart felt racing at a fast pace.

'Is this what people call love?'
She thought.

Well it was true that the first time she saw him,even if it was just his eyes,something seemed to be happening in her heart.In pain,he unknowingly comforted her which she couldn't believe how.It was something like destiny, she felt.The comfort he brought her whenever she felt a surge of dark emotions in her kind of already gave the feeling that he wasn't just someone.Maybe he is the one she had always dreamt of.Her 'the one' who would love her the way she is, accepting her flaws and not judging her past.

While his eyes were searching for a slight fear or discomfort in her eyes which he couldn't find.He was looking in her eyes as if staring in her soul and challenging any feeling which could separate them to show its effect now.

It seemed like an eternity when both of them were peering in each others souls looking in one another's eyes.

"Are you fine now?Hm.."he asked with so much care to which she nodded her head slowly indicating 'yes'.But he saw how her hands were still clutching her dress tightly still afraid of the nightmare.

"It's fine now.It was just a nightmare.Ok." he again said in his calm voice assuring her and started getting up from the bed when he felt a hand stopping his.

Her hand was holding his wrist in a feathery grip maybe unsure of the fact that if she could do that.

"Please stay." she almost murmured making it difficult to understand if she actually said that but the expressions on Jungkook's face clearly expressed the fact that she said that.He couldn't hide the happiness he felt after hearing that but he also knew how vulnerable she was at the moment and he didn't want to take advantage of that,so he asked,

"Are you sure?"

"Hm." she hummed in response.

While the others were standing outside the room still waiting for Jungkook, they could still listen what was happening inside the room.And it was truly exceptional,Jennie told them.Jungkook came out and told them to go to their rooms as she was fine then.And they also couldn't question that after what they heard happened inside.

They went in their rooms and when Jungkook came inside he found her lying down still with eyes open.He smiled as he found her so cute sprawled about on the bed but his smile seemed to fade a bit as his eyes landed on a bandage on her arm.She was so pure and should've been loved fully yet the evil creatures who don't even have the right to be called humans scarred her so badly.

He came and sat on the bed next to her and signalled her to sleep with a smile.She closed her eyes slowly and fell asleep immediately feeling his warm presence around her.He also laid down beside her making sure not to wake her up.As he was lying on the bed ,still not a sign of sleep in his eyes, he felt an arm on his chest and his eyes widened as she suddenly hugged him.

"Y/n?!" he asked but got no response only light snores to which he realised that she had hugged him in her sleep.Still, he didn't want her to get a wrong idea if she wakes up so he tried to gently remove her arm from him but  her eyebrows furrowed as he tried to do so.So he finally gave up as he didn't want to break her peaceful sleep.

But just a few minutes later, he felt her body shivering a little as he noticed a frown on her face.Silver tears were on the brink of falling from her closed eyes as she muttered in her sleep,

"St..stay away.Please,pl..please don't hurt me."

His heart clenched as he realised what was happening.Those horrible memories were again haunting her.He placed his one arm on her back rubbing slowly to soothe her and the other hand was caressing her head.He felt a pain in his heart when her tears rolled down succeeded by her whimpers.

He couldn't think of anything else and took her body in his warm embrace.He hugged her shivering body in a loving hug as he kept on saying sweet things in her ear.

"Shh..it's fine.It's fine."

After a while, she seemed to calm down as he felt her body relaxed and found her asleep in his hold.He didn't want another nightmare to bring tears in her eyes so he didn't dare to break the hug.

Flashback ended.

He laid there with her in his arms.He wanted to take away all of her pain and to do that,he could do anything.His eyes held a firm determination to protect her from anything which could hurt her.
