Pov: Hongjoong (also yes I know technically its 3rd-person but idgaf)
Seonghwa and Hongjoong had left the inn shortly before, in hopes to find Yeosang and hopefully Wooyoung as well.
After looking around a short while they saw Yeosang scribbling in his book once again with Wooyoung staring over his shoulder. They were both standing up against a building laughing and talking with each other.
"Yeosang, Wooyoung! What are you doing?" Hongjoong asked, walking up to the two.
"Oh n-nothing much. Just talking about what to do next, right Wooyoung?" Yeosang stuttered out, gently poking wooyoung with his elbow.
"Y-yeah there's a few cool places you guys should see." Wooyoung replied shyly. Seonghwa looked at them suspiciously before shrugging it off.
"Hongjoong, did you bring your bag? I think I saw a map there." He asked.
Hongjoong shook his head. "No I didn't want Lady Ji- I mean my belongings, to get lost." He said with a sheepish smile.
Wooyoung smiled brightly and put his hand on Hongjoong's shoulder. "Don't worry! I know this place like the back of my hand!"
◇An hour later◇
"Wooyoung, I'm not sure you understand what the term 'like the back of my hand' means." Yeosang stated blankly.
"I was sure we were going the right way.." Wooyoung trailed off.
The four boys were all staring at an empty alleyway, the barrels and boxes sitting nearby blending in with the shadows of nightfall.
Hongjoong sat down on a random box and sighed. "We should have brought that damn map." He huffed out.
"We've been walking for an hour and it's turning dark. I'm sure we're all tired and hungry." Everyone gave a nod to Seonghwa's statement. "Let me go and find somewhere for us to eat."
Seonghwa started out of the alleyway before he felt a hand grip his shoulder lightly. "I should come with. As a shop owner myself I know what places to steer clear of." Yeosang said.
The older boy nodded and they both left the alleyway, leaving Wooyoung and Hongjoong alone with each other.
"So.. a prince huh, never thought I'd meet one." Wooyoung sat down next to the prince in question. He stared up at the dark colored sky.
"Hah yeah, though sometimes I wish I wasn't." Hongjoong said with a sad sigh.
"Hmm? Isn't being a prince great?" Wooyoung asked. "You get endless fans, anything you want at the snap of your fingers, and best of all you don't have to worry about making money for yourself."
Hongjoong looked down at his feet which were dangling off the box due to his height. "As much as that's true, it gets so lonely up in my room all day. And other princes might be different but I was never allowed to leave the castle, making it impossible to have any fun or make any friends."
He sighed before continuing. "My brother Jongho would tell me all about the maidens he would meet out in the courtyard and my favorite part was when he would bring back a treat or two for me to eat."
He smiled as he remembered the countless supplies and books his brother would bring him. Eventually Jongho stopped and Hongjoong couldn't get much time with him but he still loved the other the same.
"It still got lonely nonetheless, especially when he and Father would stop visiting me, or when they eventually stopped eating at the dining table in the mornings." Hongjoong felt a tear slowly fall down his cheek.
"I know they're busy b-but I still hung on to the hope that I would wake up to a happy family sitting at the table, maybe even our guard Mingi would be there. Still, it never happened."
Wooyoung stood up and quickly turned to hug the other. "You don't have to go on Hongjoong, I'm so sorry you had to go through that by yourself. As much as I don't understand your situation, just know I'm your friend now and I'm here for you. The same goes for Yeosang, Seonghwa, and even my eomma."
Hongjoong hugged the other boy which only made him cry harder. "T-thank you Wooyoung. I'm so glad I made friends with you and everyone else I met along the way."
"Of course Hongjoong." Wooyoung pulled away from the hug and smirked. " Now then, how about we play a few games together until the other get back?"
Hongjoong wiped his tears. "I'd love to."
Okay so this was kind of a filler chap but I promise the next one is going to be REALLY plot filled and very dramatic hehehehehe
Also what did y'all think of the lightsum debut? I honestly have mixed opinions on it so I'd like to know what you think ^^
