As soon as I arrived back at my apartment, I changed into more comfortable clothes before tidying up around my apartment.
Before I knew it, it was 4:30pm. I grabbed my phone and scrolled through my contact list to get to Shouta's phone number. As soon as I had located his number, I sent him a text message with my address and how to get there. After messaging him, I went onto the internet on my phone to see what near-by take-outs were open.
My phone vibrated as a message came back from Shouta telling me he was about to head over to my apartment and should be there within the hour. I smiled at the message before locking my phone and placing it on the table.
I sat and stared at the wall deep in thought. I was considering what movie Shouta and I could watch, I wasn't even sure what kind of movies he liked. I picked up my phone again and went onto Shouta's contact number and messaged him.
Y/N - Hey, it's me again! What kind of movie would you like to watch tonight? I have loads for you to pick from :)
I sent the message and waited for his response which came back almost immediately.
Shouta - Anything is fine, I'm not fussed.
I nodded at the text and scanned over the movies lining the shelf on my TV unit, looking at the different genres I had. Comedy? No, Shouta doesn't seem the type of guy to enjoy comedies. Romance was definitely out of the question, there was no doubt he would fall asleep.
My eyes landed on my small collection of horror movies and I grinned from ear to ear, horror would be a good choice. I stood up from the couch and picked out some horror movies for Shouta to choose from.
The doorbell to my apartment rang, making me jump slightly before looking at the time. Shouta did say he would be here within the hour, and it's not long gone past 5pm. I skipped over to the door and pulled it open to see Shouta wearing a casual black shirt and dress pants with his black hair tied up into a ponytail. My eyes scanned his attire once more before looking down at what I was wearing.
I chose to wear a pair of plain joggers and black T-shirt, so I felt really under dressed. To be quite honest, I thought he would have just turned up in his usual black jumper and pants.
I looked up at the man in front of me and smiled, "You're looking very smart, what's the occasion?" I smirked at him.
Shouta rolled his eyes, "There's no occasion, just thought I'd wear something casual, that's all. Anyway, here, I bought this for you on the way here," he said as he held up a tall gold-coloured gift bag to me.
I looked down at the bag and back up at Shouta, "You didn't have to Shouta," I smiled softly.
"I know, but I wanted to," he looked away shyly as I took the bag from him and peeked inside. Inside the bag was a bottle of prosecco.
I looked back up at him and smiled even more, "Well I know what we'll be drinking tonight," I said with a giggle before stepping to the side to allow Shouta into my apartment, "Please come in, make yourself at home."
Shouta stepped inside and kicked his shoes off by the door before walking further into my apartment, looking around. I closed the door behind him and made my way to the kitchen while Shouta looked around the lounge area.
I took the bottle of prosecco out of the bag and placed it in the fridge until we had ordered our food. I stepped back into the lounge to see that Shouta had sat down on the couch and was looking at the small selection of horror movies I had picked out just before he arrived.
"Didn't think you were one for horror movies," he commented out loud as I came and sat down beside him.
"I pretty much like anything when it comes to movies, as long as it has a good storyline, I couldn't care less about the genre," I shrugged.
"So, what one were you considering out of these?" Shouta held the DVD cases up with a raised eyebrow. The movies I had selected were Scream, IT, and A Quiet Place.
I shrugged again as my eyes scanned over the three chosen movies, "I was hoping you would pick. These are my top three favourites in terms of horror, so I couldn't possibly decide."
Shouta looked at the DVDs in thought and held up the case for A Quiet Place, "Haven't seen this one before, though I have heard some good things about this movie," he said.
"Trust me, it's really good. So do you wanna watch that?" I asked.
Shouta nodded and handed me the DVDs. I took our chosen movie and placed it on the table before placing the other two DVDs back on the shelf.
"Now that the movie has been decided, what do you fancy having to eat?"
"I think you should decide, seeing as I chose the movie," he suggested.
"Sushi sound good to you?" I raised an eyebrow. Shouta nodded in agreement and I grabbed my phone to look for a sushi place near-by. As soon as I had found one, I pulled up the menu and handed the phone to Shouta.
"Pick whatever you'd like," I smiled as Shouta took my phone and had a look at the menu while I set the movie up.
After a few minutes of deciding, Shouta told me what he'd like and I called the restaurant to place the order. After our order was placed, Shouta and I starting talking about what we had been up to since the last time we saw each other.
He asked me questions about my time at the Molotov Hero Office and listened to all of the stories I had to tell, occasionally smiling at the funny memories I recalled.
"So, what made you decide to leave if you enjoyed your job there? I know you mentioned this morning that you wanted to do something more useful with your life, but what exactly was it that made you think you weren't doing anything useful already?" He asked, tilting his head to the side slightly.
"I wanted to be the type of person people looked up to and guide them. I want to be able to help people, but not in the way of a hero. I strive to pass my knowledge on to future heroes, I learnt that from having interns come to the agency. I used to watch their fighting styles, learn how their Quirks worked, and then I would tell them different ways they could use their Quirks in different scenarios. Some interns asked me if I had ever thought of being a teacher for a hero course, because I seemed to have the knowledge and give great guidance," I explained, "That's why, when I saw the advertisement for U.A, I thought I'd give it a shot, to see if those interns were right in what they were saying."
"You've always been one to give great advice when it came to people's Quirks. If I remember correctly, it was you that suggested a certain brand of eye drops for me," he glanced at me with a smirk. He wasn't wrong though. Shouta always complained the eye drops he was using while at U.A irritated his eyes, causing him to not be able to use his Quirk for long, so I recommended some eye drops that would help with the irritation and not make his eyes dry out so easily every time he used his Quirk.
"Yeah, that was me," I giggled.
"Well, you'll be happy to know, I still follow your advice to this very day," he smiled softly.
I returned the smile, feeling rather touched to know that even after all these years, Shouta still follows the advice I gave him, even if it was just a small piece of advice.
