"Stupid, Toshinori..." I grumbled to myself as I entered by apartment. I hung my keys up on the key hook and marched into the lounge, and slumping myself onto the couch, continuing to ramble to myself, "If you knew the real reason, you'd understand, but I'm still not gonna tell you... Then why bring it up?!" I finished with a growl.
Why didn't I see that coming after Izuku told me he knew Toshinori and was training under him? Damn I'm such an idiot!
My phone started ringing from inside my pocket, "This better be important," I muttered as I pulled my phone out of my pocket and looked at the number calling me, relaxing a little as soon as I saw Shouta's name flash up on the screen. I pressed the answer button and held the phone up to my ear, "Missing me already?" I smirked.
"I just thought I'd give you a call to see how you were feeling after last night, sorry I didn't call earlier," Shouta said.
"Yeah, I'm feeling great... Well... I was feeling great," I sighed.
"Why? What's wrong?" Shouta sounded really concerned.
"Well, I decided it was a nice day to go and take a walk on the beach. While I was waiting for the bus, I met this kid and started talking to him after I blurted out that he was an All Might fanboy," I started.
"Wait, you told a random kid he was an All Might fanboy?"
"It was because I saw these notes he had written about All Might, after that we started talking and he told me he developed his Quirk later than others, so I told him I knew someone the exact same, when he asked who, I told him it was Toshinori, well All Might to him, then her told me he also knew him and trained under him, we got on the same bus and it turned out we were both heading to the beach, he told me there was someone he think I'd be happy to meet, and low and behold, it was Toshinori. Toshinori came to speak to me and apologised for the disagreement we had before graduation and asked if we could start over, I refused to accept his apology, telling him I wasn't mad at him because of the disagreement, it was because he lied to me about something he said during said disagreement, and proceeded to say to him, 'you may be Japan's number 1 hero in everyone's eyes, but you're Japan's number 1 asshole in mine' before storming off the beach," I explained.
Shouta remained silent for a moment before finally speaking up, "Ouch, that was a bit harsh, don't you think?"
"Trust me, Shouta, if you knew the full story, you would understand why," I sighed before adding, "But, yeah, I guess calling him Japan's number 1 asshole was kind of a low blow on my part, but I was just mad."
"Look, I know you said you're not a fan of talking about what happened between you two, but maybe, for the sake of this situation, you should tell me, that way, I can see the full picture and maybe offer you some advice," he suggested.
I let out a sigh, "Fine, okay. I'll explain everything. Wanna meet up to talk in person? I think it would be better to talk about this face to face than over the phone."
"Give me thirty minutes, and I'll be over, okay?"
"Yeah, sounds good, I'll make you some coffee, you might need it," I said with a giggle.
"Okay, I'll see you in a bit," he said.
"In a bit," I nodded as I took the phone from my ear and hung up from the call. I placed my phone on the coffee table and let out a sigh. Even though Shouta and I had met for the first time in 15 years, I felt like I was able to tell him anything that was on my mind. His presence gave me that sense of reassurance that he wouldn't judge me, not matter what I told him.
When we were at U.A, he was always known as the quiet kid in our class, but once you got to know him, he was actually great company. I had rediscovered that last night, and it made me realise how much I had missed him. Yes, Toshinori and I were good friends, but I think Shouta and I were more on the same wavelength as each other, which made us slightly more closer than what I was with Toshinori, I guess you could say that was why I was able to confide with him a lot more, and right now, I was grateful to have someone like Shouta as a friend.
