It was the next morning. I woke up to find myself still in the clothes I had worn last night. It was then that I remembered Shouta had stayed round last night after coming over for some sushi and a movie, bringing a bottle of prosecco that we both demolished before retiring for the night.

I slid out of bed and crept over to my bedroom door, opening it as quietly as possible in case Shouta was still sleeping. As I peeked my head around the door, I noticed the lounge had been cleaned and there was no sign of Shouta.

"Shouta?" I called out as I stepped into the lounge, looking around. I listened for any noise coming from the kitchen or the bathroom that would indicate Shouta occupying one of those rooms, but everything was silent. I walked over to the kitchen to see that all the rubbish from last night's sushi was gone and there was a piece of paper sitting on top of the counter. I walked over to the counter and looked at the piece of paper, it was a note. I picked up the note and read it:

Y/N,

Thanks for a nice evening last night, it was great to catch up with you again.

I left before you woke up this morning–I didn't want to disturb you, so posted your key through the letterbox when I left. Sorry I couldn't stay for breakfast, there's something I had to do.

Thanks again for a good night, I hope we can do it again some time.

Shouta.

I smiled down at note before placing it back on the counter and walking out of the kitchen to my front door. As Shouta had said in his note, the key to my apartment was posted through the door and was lying on the doormat. I bent down to pick up the key and place it on the key holder on the wall. I let out a big stretch as I made my way over to the bathroom to go for my morning shower and get ready for the day.

As I wasn't working, I decided today would be a good day to go grocery shopping to get everything in that I needed for the week ahead.

Once I was showered and dressed, I picked my phone up from the coffee table where I had left it last night and quickly sent a text to Shouta to thank him for last night;

Y/N - Good morning! Got your note! Thanks for a good night, would definitely love to hang out again sometime :)

I pressed send before placing my phone in my pocket before going into the kitchen to write down a shopping list of what I needed to buy.

With the shopping list written, I grabbed some shopping bags and went to the front door, retrieving my key from the key holder before leaving my apartment.

It was about a ten-minute walk round the corner from my apartment to the grocery store. Upon entering the store, I grabbed a shopping basket and walked around the aisles grabbing everything that was on my list. It was quiet in the grocery store, which was typical for a Sunday morning, and because it was quiet, I was able to pay for my items quickly and get back home with no hassle.

I got back home and put all my groceries away, contemplating what I should do for the rest of the day. I looked out of my kitchen window and decided a trip to the beach that was a twenty-minute bus journey away would be a good idea, seeing and it was a nice sunny day.

So, it was decided. I left my apartment again and walked to the bus stop that was just across the road from the apartment complex. I sat down at the bus stop and waited for the bus to arrive.
