Yulia POV

We were in Ryevost,East Ravka
Finding the crows and Alina,I don't know why she ran and I don't know why the crows left me.after everything...

but I guess I'm just like Arken,yeah I know what happened to him.He Double crossed us and tried to kill Alina.I wasn't at the interrogation as he would have snitched.

Anyway,I was in a carriage with Zoya and Ivan as Feydor had to go on a lead to find Nina.

We got out the carriage and saw the crows.they ran and I went after Kaz.

I was running across rooftops until I got ahead of him.
I jumped down and waved my hand causing his hat to fall down into his eyes, causing him to almost fall

"You left me."
He put his head down
"Why?"
He still didn't talk
"answer me?!"
I yelled in desperation

"You belong there.you were happy.I couldn't take you away from that"

"No kaz.sure I missed my friend but everything else was dreadful.the King is an idiot,the queen is a monster and the generals evil...Kaz I would've come"

"and when were you going to tell me that you knew Alina"

"how do you know about that"

"I heard your conversation with her, friend since the orphanage right?"

"I was going to tell you"

"When"

" I don't know but this isn't about me!"

"Isn't it ?!"
He was getting angrier

"NO"
I yelled angry

His face dropped when I yelled even more.
"Kaz, When I was with you and the crows,I was free...I would've come"

"Then come with me now"
He mumbled so quietly it was basically a whisper

"What?"

"come with me now"
He said braver
"Come.with me.now"
He said slowly looking directly in my eyes and nowhere else

"Ok..."

His eyes lit up at that
"Yeah?"

"Yeah"
I said smiling
While he had a little smirk

And just as we were about to leave

"Your not going anywhere"

It was the general

"Miss Tarasova...I have to say I wasn't expecting to be betrayed by you..."
He said with a mixture he of angry and shock on his face
"It looks like mister Brekker has a thing for Grishas"
Then he looked at kaz
"I know you kidnapped my sun summoner and now your going to tell me where you stashed her."

"We didn't take her,she fled on her own"
Kaz said grabbing my wrist with the top of his cane and pulling me behind him and slowly walking us backwards

"...Where is she...I won't ask you again?"

"I don't know...it was pretty clear she wasn't interested in being a captive anymore"

Oh my saints-
Does kaz want us to die ?!?!

"She probably half way to Novyi zem by now"

Child-

Shadows started appearing around us closing us in from every direction

"you should've stayed in Ketterdam Mr Brekker"

There was a Big Bang.
Kaz had thrown a bomb but sadly the cut that the general had made hit me in the side and threw me out of kaz's grip.

"GO"

"NO"

"GO BEFORE THE SMOKE CLEARS.
Kaz go...he won't kill me..."

Kaz looks between me and the smoke.He was still not going.

"KAZ LOOK AT ME.You wanna make it up to me for leaving?"

He nodded eagerly

"Then go...Run...as far as you can"

He hesitantly nodded then ran sweat dripping down his forehead and guilt within in eyes

Then the smoke cleared
And I was left with the general
"Miss Tarasova...we are to Board a skiff soon."

He grabbed my upper arm pulling me up and I hissed in pain as I still had a slice on the side of my waist.
"Soon I'm going to change the world and lucky you...you get a front row seat."

He then dragged me away

Kaz POV

I can't believe I just did that.I just left her.but she wanted me to right?was it a mistake.I should go back.wait no,then she'll be mad...

Is she dead?

I found Jesper

"Woah boss what happened?!"
He said in astonishment

I hadn't even noticed the mess I looked

" I was wrong.she would've come.Yulia.we were just about to run.the general came..."

I saw Jesper face drop

"He's got Yulia"

"What?!"
inej said behind Jesper

She had a stab wound and Jesper held her up.
I thought It was game over until I saw the general's carriage.

My plan...
Get back to the other side of the fold
Where I overheard the general say he was going on a skiff,just after I ran.he told Yulia.

That's where I get Yulia back.
Then we all go back to Ketterdam.

This chapter is a bit shorter since I've been sick now it's not Covid it just sucks
