Yulia POV
He was doing it again, the pen thing. Making it disappear and then reappear back into his hand.
"Kaz-" I sat down in the chair opposite him, fiddling with the ring on my finger
His head snapped his head towards me
"-Wylan's brought in the compound, Jesper and inej are helping him load it in"
He nodded and looked me in the eye, never looked away, not once, barley even blinking "In a few hours, when the chips fall...it'll give me some comfort to know that your with me and some relief when I see you...-"
For once I was happy for the dreary weather in Ketterdam, always making the room look dark otherwise Kaz would've seen my cheeks glow a bright red, though I'm sure that didn't stop him from seeing the giddy smile
"-your doing it again" he said looking down at my ring, i had played with it so much it had almost slipped off my finger
I smiled, looking down at it and the little emerald that was in the base of the roses stem. "It was was gift, Genya was the first grisha I was friends with, if you don't count Alina, she gave this to me when I was young-"
He kept staring at it
"-what are you thinking?" I asked, it had to be about the plan
"About how you don't look good in emeralds"

I gaped a little "Okay, very blunt of you"
"Jesper thinks you should try onyx" he said blankly as he got up to go
Onyx. Black. On one had it reminded me of Kirigan, which I hated. But on the other hand, it also reminded me of Kaz, I've honestly never seen him wear a slight bit of colour in his life. Black. Bittersweet. Kirigan and Kaz.
"When did Jesper say that?" I asked , laughing a little
"On one of his many, many...many rants...you'll be wearing the peacock dress? Yes?" He asked as we stood in the door way almost ready to set the plan in motion
"Yes, why? Making sure I'm there?" I teased a little and blushed a little more
He didn't say anything, only stared until my smile had faded into the silence of the room "Promise me, that If the plan goes sideways, you will leave, you will find Alina and Malyen and never look back"
