"Grandad won't you tell us another story?"

Two small children sat tucked in bed, I sat on a rocking chair next to them. I'd skipped out some parts of the story I  had deemed inappropriate for two 10 year olds but the rest was all true and written down in an old leather bound journal. I closed the book with a sigh as I always did after a long night,

"Not tonight girls, tommorow, of course I will. However it won't be as good as tonight's story."

"Why not? I loved the story, all your stories are just as good as eachother." Cassidy said, who was older than her sister by two minutes.

I spoke and smiled, "Well, you see, this story is all true, but more stories tommorow ok?" I smiled and kissed my two grandchildren on the top of their heads.

"Goodnight grandad!" They both said at the same time

"Goodnight girls." I said in return blowing out the candle that lit the room.

I walked out of the room and closed the door. I looked down at the journal in my hands and traced the writing on the cover with my fingers, 'The guests' it read. I opened the front cover, reading it one more time before I too retired to bed,

'this is a story about a Man called James, A Robot called Wasp and my Uncle called Ryan. RIP.'

"COLE!" I heard Matti, my partner, call my name from downstairs;
"COMING!" I said, Matti probably needed help with another crossword. I put the journal in my pocket, took a deep breath and walked downstairs.
