Shrubby is the older of the two, and while he isn't exactly overprotective of Shamrock, he's always kind of had to take care of her throughout their childhood as they were bounced around foster homes, and that kind of stuck even after they were adopted and eventually became adults. (Look at me dumping serious backstory stuff on a meme drawing)
They are very close and they love each other very much :)

Shamrock is pretty innocent and cheerful, so it's nearly always jarring for people to find out she listens to a lot of dark/depressing music. (With impossibly shaped headphones!!!) The song is Ready To Die by Andrew W.K..
Also I just realized today that I kiiiiiiiind of maybe subconsciously based these two and their dynamic off of Foxy and BB from EthGoesBOOM's videos and I honestly have absolutely no idea how to feel about that
