"Wow.... That was unexpected..." Chris panted as he fell down beside me on the bed trying to catch his breath. I couldn't help but laugh as i covered my face with my hands before letting out a groan. "I just wanted to distract you for a while..." "I think its safe to say you did that Evans! Oh god, so much for us taking things slow!" "Im not complaining.... Like, at all!" I peered at him through my fingers and saw him looking at me with a shit eating grin. "Chris...." "I even did that thing you like" he chuckled pulling my hands away from my face and leaning down to kiss me. "Im surprised you remembered" "Of course i remembered". Chris looked at me like i was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen, his fingers stroking the side of my face. He pressed gentle kisses over my face before landing back on my lips for a slow, thorough kiss. "God i've missed you" he mumbled resting his forehead against mine. "I missed you too".
Sighing i sat up reaching for Chris's discarded t-shirt and pulling it on. "Hey, where are you going?" "I need to shower, check on Mason and get dinner started...." I said standing up with every intention of heading to his ensuite, Chris on the other hand had other ideas. He reached out grabbing my hips and pulled me back into bed and before i knew it i was straddling his waist. "Chris!!" I laughed, part of me wanting nothing more than to stay in bed with him but the other part, the mom part, knew i needed to go check on Mason and sort out dinner.... You know, grown up shit. "Lets just stay here" he smiled up at me while squeezing my hips. I couldn't help but smile back as my hands traced over his tattoos that littered his toned body. He had so many new additions since the last time id seen him. "I like these" "Im gonna get one for Mason when the world opens up again" "Yeah?" "Of course, right here" he pointed to the left side of his chest where Dodgers name was "next to my heart". My finger traced over the tattoo of our wedding date in Roman numerals that he had done the day after we got married. "I can't believe you still have this, i thought you would've had it removed or covered". "Not a chance" he smiled pulling me down to kiss me again, i hummed against him before pulling away. "Im glad you kept it" i told him truthfully before climbing off of him and making my way over to the ensuite. "Come on, we can't hide away in here all day. Plus I really need a shower" "Can i come shower with you?" He wiggled his eyebrows playfully before getting up and walking towards me in all his naked glory. "Sure but we're only showering. We don't have time for any funny business Mr!" "I make no promises".

A few more weeks in lockdown passed by surprisingly fast! And there was still no update of it easing up anytime soon.
Megan had been in touch and informed us that the police had been to see Brian to serve him with a restraining order but he wasn't home. They'd been around a few times and every time he was no where to be seen. Knowing he was out there somewhere and no one could find him made me nervous but i pushed it to the back of my mind, there was nothing i could do.
Scott had left for a few days, he had split up with his boyfriend and moved out of their shared house, he was currently getting settled in his new place after Chris helped him move.
Chris had been very busy with all of the zoom interviews promoting his new show Defending Jacob and all the work he was doing on his new website 'A Starting Point' but he still made time for Mason and i'd have his full attention of an evening, he was so good organising his time!
I was sitting on the sofa with a cup of tea while watching some True Crime documentary Scott got me hooked on when Chris came walking in looking excited. "Hey dahlin'" he grinned dropping down next to me holding a large flat box. "Hey.... What you got there?" He opened the box and carefully pulled out three large framed photo's. He turned them to show me and i smiled seeing the photo's from the day they shaved their heads and also one of Mason and Dodger curled up together sleeping. "Oh my god.... I love them!" "They're great right?" "They really are" "Im going to put them up" he jumped up rushing around finding the tools he needed to hang them. I couldn't help but smile at the joy on his face over doing such a mundane task, but anything to do with Mason made him so damn happy.
Later that day while i was in the kitchen preparing dinner, Megan called. Chris answered while tapping away on his laptop. Mason was sat at the dining room table across from Chris playing a game on Chris' iPad to keep him occupied. "What?? Are you fuc....are you kidding me?!" He stopped himself swearing in front of Mason, Chris pushed his chair back and stormed out into the backyard. I watched him through the window as he paced back and forth and run a hand over his head..... he dropped into one of the garden chairs and hung his head...this was bad. I waited until i saw him hang up before making my way outside.
"Hey, whats going on?" I asked walking over to him and sitting down. Chris shook his head looking close to tears. "Im so sick of this shit Y/N. Its one thing after the other!" "Babe, whats wrong?" "Megan just called to give me the heads up about a story thats about to be run.... Should be dropping tomorrow. Lindsey has come forward telling people that i never knew about Mason. That its all lies, that I've not been a part of his life all along" "That spiteful little bitch!" "This is gonna be bad!" "But its her word against ours! Can't we just say she's making it up because she's a petty, bitter bitch!" "There will still be some people who believe her..... god, things were finally going well there for a second" "Should've known something would come and slap us in the face huh" "I just wanna be able to enjoy having my family here you know? I hate all this drama!" "Okay.... So what if maybe we act first?" "What do you mean?" "I know i said i didn't want Mason's photo out there but how about we do a one off. Do you think you could make that happen? We can tell our story how we want it to be perceived casually drop in there about Lindsey not taking the news well.... Could we get this out before her story drops? Would that help?" "I mean it could.... I can make a few calls....." "Then do it, but these are the only photo's i want released of Mace. I just want this over with so we can just enjoy being a family without all this added bullshit". "God i love you" Chris said before pulling me in and crashing his mouth to mine. "I love you too. Make those calls we don't have a lot of time".
