It was about 3am one night and I couldn't sleep because I felt something wasn't right, I was paranoid so to make myself feel better I waited, I was fully dressed with my hair slicked back into a low bun, I had tims on, and I had my gun in hand. I was just waiting for a peep, even the smallest little peep outta someone, or a sound, like a gunshot or something.

I heard crying suddenly, I knew we only had one kid in the house, my kid, so I knew something was up. I went through my drawer and grabbed the silencer for my gun so I won't accidentally blow out the poor girl's eardrums and I got up heading towards her room. I heard yelling from my parents and people who huddled around in front of her room trying to open the door like they couldn't have just shot it off or something, fucking idiots.

"Move"

I told them before shooting the doorknob off and kicking it in, there were four guys and one had his hand around Eloise's leg trying to drag her out of bed though she fought back.

"Close your eyes babygirl," I told her then she closed her eyes and covered her ears and I got down to business. I started with the guy in front of me, the one closes to her bed, he brought his gun out but I immediately kicked it out of his hand and shot him in the head. One came from behind me so I threw him over my shoulder and shot him up the chin, the third guy came from the side so I thought fast and went under his legs while hitting his balls along the way, I stood up and knocked him out with the gun cause we probably needed him for later.

The last guy really wanted a fight cause he got a couple hits in even knocked the gun out of my hand, I chuckled and pulled out my knife and went at him with it, he dodged it a couple times but I managed to slice his hand, the moment he got distracted I stabbed him in his stomach. I pulled the knife out and kicked him and he flew out of the window breaking it into pieces. I pulled out a rag and wiped the blood off my knife before putting it back.

"Asshole," I say before picking up my whiny daughter and she immediately calmed down in my arms, I was out of breath and covered in blood, I moved her hair out of her face to check if she was hurt, I also checked her arms and legs but she was fine through and through so I carried her out. I knew that she was tired and wanted to sleep so I just called it a night and took her to my room ignoring everyone that was still outside the door.

"Here you go my love" I handed her a banana slice since I made us a late night snack after I cleaned up, I knew she was upset about what just happened so I knew one way to calm her down, just us time. The two of us against the world, In these moments I like the be in it, I don't feel the need to get high because it's moments like this that genuinely make me happy, to see that smile on her face is all I need, my little girl is all I need just the two of us.

"My precious girl," I kissed her head and she looked up at me with those big blue eyes and smiled.

"You look exactly like me it's scary," I say and she giggles

"I love you," I tell her

"I wove you too," she cupped my cheeks which kind of hurt cause one of them was starting to bruise, it didn't bother me, I was so used to feeling nothing so the pain doesn't even feel so bad.

"Mama," she says

"Yes baby I'm your mama"

I kissed her nose before tucking her in and gave her a bottle full of milk.

"Sweet dreams babygirl"

I kissed her head then laid next to her, she crawled over to me and laid her head on my chest instead, I didn't mind and stroked her hair while humming a soft tune to her, I sang a song to her watching as she was falling asleep due to the sound of my voice. I chuckled and gently took the bottle from her hand that was hanging half way out of her mouth setting it into my mini fridge next to my bed. I finished my song then eventually fell asleep myself.

"I saw what you did last night," Cassie told me while I was eating avocado toast that I made and scrolling through a crossword puzzle

"Everyone did what's the difference?" I said

"You must really love Eloise"

"I'd do anything for that kid everyone knows that"

"You sounded beautiful singing"

"I wasn't singing what are you talking about?"

"I heard you"

"Well you must be imagining things cause I wasn't"

"You sounded amazing why are you trying to hide it"

"You're crazy"

"No you just like to deny"

"Billie we have some news on that guy," Zoe tells me through the earpiece I was wearing

"I'll be there in a minute"

"Deny all you want," Cassie said in a more mocking tone

"I wasn't singing," I slammed my hands on the table before walking off.
